will a bashrc work on my librelec?
<BCMM>
flughafen: i don't think libreelec usually has bash
<BCMM>
i think the default shell is busybox ash
<BCMM>
flughafen: you can still use .profile to set env vars and so on, but obviously make sure you're not using bash-specific features
<flughafen>
BCMM: thanks

i remember reading about something, about some kind of cached file index? i have a usb harddrive connected , and it'd be nice, if i didn't take so long for browsing through files

if one has auto update enabled does that include an upgrade from v8 to v9? I had a box (raspi 3b+) configured like that and found it in a frozen state. Rebooting caused a kernel hickup leaving it in a state in which it started to overheat within minutes. A manual reinstallation of v9 solved it, but is time consuming and still leaves me wondering about the cause and change it will happen again.
<zodd>
*chance
<EuroTrash>
Update works through update channels, which are split per major revision, so AFAIK 8 will never auto-update to 9.
<EuroTrash>
This sounds like SD card filesystem corruption, to be honest.
<EuroTrash>
Doesn't have much to do with updating, it's just something a raspberry pi owner should live with, basically.

EuroTrash, I hate SD cards, so at some point moved to USBstick. It is quite new and I extensively verified it (as far that is possible) resulting in 0 errors

wifi pxe boot would be a nice feature. It would allow moving away from the timebomb we call SD-card
