hey guys
<DaRock>
using libreelec on rpi3 b+ and tvheadend
<DaRock>
tvheadend cannot discover another tvheadend using satip - any ideas why that might be?
<DaRock>
I've run tcpdump, trace debug, and just about any other test possible but the tvheadend on libreelec appears to ignoring any messages sent to it from the multicast system telling it where to find the other server
<DaRock>
tcpdump on both libreelec and the server show the messages are being recieved by libreelec, but the tvheadend instance is not getting them
<DaRock>
although it can see itself??
<DaRock>
[ TRACE]:upnp: multicast - received data from <libreelec>:4751 [size=173]

looking for some help with my new install of libreelec leia...I have a custom lircd file in config for a directv remote. The KEY_NAME reports right with both Kodi Log and using IRW command in putty. But the system only uses the system Lircmap not my Userdata/Lircmap.xml. Device name on both files is devinput...I have also tried naming them "directv" instead.
<Ohio_Sam>
I am referring to the name lines inside the files not renaming the files themselves.

what does the usb-sd-creator actually do with an image? Just writing it to my media I assume? So I can just use dd?

<neoweb>
anyone know what the replacement is for the old hama mce remotes? the big gray ones...you cannot find them anymore.
<EuroTrash>
MCE (with the Windows logo) is a standard, anything with that same logo will work with that receiver.
<EuroTrash>
I don't think anyone makes new ones anymore, but on Ebay and Aliexpress there's tons of old stock, from HP, Sony, Acer and some others.
<neoweb>
The hole shebang is pretty hard to find on ebay anymore.
<neoweb>
they have the mce remotes with no recievers....
<neoweb>
hp, acer...etc
<EuroTrash>
Yeah but you can use any MCE/RC6 receiver
<EuroTrash>
They're all interchangeable.
<neoweb>
see, I do not have the ehome one though... I have vrc-1100's on all my screens. Do you think an HP MCE remote will work with those recievers?
<neoweb>
I know there is a pile of 1000 of these sitting somewhere.
<neoweb>
Ready to be trashed heh
<EuroTrash>
That Hama one apparently isn't true MCE, then. As for that link... seems like a clone, but the description is contradictory, no way to tell what's really inside.
<neoweb>
Thanks.
<EuroTrash>
If you can score an official ehome/MCE receiver, from then on you can use any MCE remote with the Windows logo.
<EuroTrash>
All those remote+receiver sets in the ~$18 range will do the job, slightly on the high side, pricewise, though. Can maybe find a better deal if you spend some time searching.
<neoweb>
Thanks for the help.
<EuroTrash>
I'm an MCE junkie myself, they're getting slightly more scarce and expensive, but 18 bucks for a set still isn't a whole lot, I guess.
<neoweb>
See, the problem for me is, that I am using them for something that requires more then one. I have close to 60 right now that are in production, and I am thinking I am going to have to replace them all heh.
<neoweb>
I did not know about the rc6 stuff. I get it now, but this is fallout from a decision I made 2 years ago heh.
<neoweb>
I may be able to cycle in segments...like 10 at a time or at each location.
<EuroTrash>
Would be a whole lot cheaper to get that ^
<neoweb>
right!
<EuroTrash>
With the risk of having to replace them again within a year....
<neoweb>
I have never ordered something from aliexpress
<neoweb>
Just ebay in china right?
<neoweb>
I get the min quan, and manufacturing stuff....but is it safe?
<neoweb>
it says estimated delivery 06/24
<neoweb>
ohh
<neoweb>
I was about to say heh, I thought it say 05/24
<EuroTrash>
Aliexpress is the consumer version of alibaba, so they're used to single item orders. Overall it's very safe, if you choose a reputable seller, and there's a dispute system that's pretty good, in case it doesn't show up.
<EuroTrash>
But shipping usually takes 2-3 weeks, and if stuff breaks, generally it costs more to send it back than to take your loss, so there's a compromise.
<EuroTrash>
But I've done hundreds of orders, rarely does anything go wrong.
<neoweb>
That makes sense. I did not even know Alibaba and Aliexpress were different heh.
<neoweb>
Thanks for the help EuroTrash.
<EuroTrash>
That shipping estimate is mostly bullshit, all the slow boat post takes 2-3 weeks, sometimes more, and if you don't use express shipping, it's the same for pretty much all sellers. The date is just set to get the dispute terms fixed.
<neoweb>
This will work. I was still thinking about posting on forum.kodi.tv, to see if anyone has a pallet of them somewhere heh.
<neoweb>
I think it is a lost cause at this point.
<EuroTrash>
If a seller says 2-3 weeks, but it takes slightly longer, they risk getting disputes opened. Some set a very long shipping time to be safe in case it takes longer, others set a tight shipping time, risking it, in hopes of people chosing them instead of others.
<neoweb>
ahh
<EuroTrash>
You never know, but that Hama stuff wasn't very widespread in the first place, I think.
