<lrusak_> mirko, because the entire system is built from scratch so the toolchain is also?
<lrusak_> that's not so much true anymore as we do ship a linaro toolchain to build aarch64 kernel and u-boot

<mirko> lrusak_: even if everythign would be built from scratch: that's basically the purpose of above mentioned toolchains, seemingly taking care of all that, so LibreELEC wouldn't have to deal with that..

<aphirst> Hi there :)
<aphirst> I'm trying to work out how to reset my USB devices on my libreelec odroid-c2
<aphirst> there's some sort of dumb bug where sometimes the usb receiver for my remote just doesn't work
<aphirst> fixed by replugging the usb device or a hard reboot (rolling the dice again)
<aphirst> i got as far as trying some suggestions from pages like https://askubuntu.com/questions/645/how-do-you-reset-a-usb-device-from-the-command-line but it doesn't seem to do anything
<aphirst> i THINK this is related to an issue that odroid know about but their documentation isn't helpful
<aphirst> https://wiki.odroid.com/odroid-c2/troubleshooting/usb_hub_ic they suggest poking some stuff in /sys/class that simply doesn't exist
<aphirst> if i can work out a way to replicate a usb device replug in software then i'd add it to a libreelec systemctl startup service
<aphirst> but atm it's a huge pain having to hope the remote works, and if not, replugging it

<mack-> aphirst: does your linux kernel provide a bind/unbind interface for usb?
<mack-> I am on the way out the door, so can't stick around, but that should give you enough keywords for google.
