hey guys, can you help me to change the default ports of TVH?
<mack->
kre10: I'm assuming you're using the libreelec addon in Services as your backend on the same machine as your client? Since having TVH backend running on anything else is trivial to change the ports?
<kre10>
mack-, all that is true, but my friend also watching tv from my TVH and for that I have to open ports
<mack->
I don't use TVH, and I guess I don't understand something. TVH can't handle multiple client connections on the same port?
<kre10>
mack-, I don't want to use the default ports of TVH. That's it. I have to open these ports and I don't want them to be the default ones
<mack->
oh, you're wanting to open to internet. You're going with the wrong approach for security, if you're just changing the port :) Maybe someone who's more famliar will be able to say if LE's ports can be changed without a recompile or something

any reason to not put tvh on a separate low-spec box with a security-conscious linux distribution, that way you can start the tvh backend service with whatever flags and ports you like, and also not have a kodi box hanging off the internet?
<kre10>
mack-, yeah, I know. But I prefer to change the default ones, If ports can be changed without a recompile, of course.
<kre10>
mack-, yes, I'm thinking about change the server.
<kre10>
changing*
<mack->
most firewalls also remap ports. Internet facing random port > internal tvh port.
<mack->
well, not random. Something you choose and remember for your friend
