<tingoose> Hello. What's the status for usb otg support for gxbb/odroid-c2 for now? Is it possible to run gxbb usb in a slave mode and use gadget modules with it ?

<narmstrong> tingoose: it should wotk if you force the mode in DT yes, OTG detection does not work and will need a lot of work

<tingoose> Which linux version supports this? 4.14, afaik, was broken
afaerber has quit [Quit: Leaving]
<tingoose> I tried to force it in dt, setting it to dr_mode = "perepheral", but it still was not working

<rtp> narmstrong: oh, it should work as long as it's forced ? but I remember seeing it marked as not supported on the wiki :(
<xdarklight> tingoose: you may have to check the kernel log, I believe you need to pass some of the g-* properties (which are only used in device/peripheral/gadget mode)
<xdarklight> rtp: OTG (switching between host / device mode) is definitely not supported, but as narmstrong said forcing the controller into device mode might work
<tingoose> yep, I've passed all necessary properties. Or is there any new properties that were introduced to g_ether since 3.16?
<tingoose> ah, you mean these. No, I haven't
<tingoose> Hm. Do you have any advice about exact numbers?
<gab> tingoose: if it's any help, I managed to have it working on gxm with amlogic kernel 4.9
<gab> (haven't tried it on mainline yet)
<xdarklight> tingoose: unfortunately I have no advice on these numbers on GXBB - my best hint is to check Amlogic's GPL kernel sources or a kernel log from the Amlogic kernel
<tingoose> Seems like there were a problem with auto-detection of this parameters
<tingoose> Seems like there were a problem with auto-detection of this parameters in dwc code
