mjourdan: It works fine! best results from console and using vlc. Now to try to get Mali / wayland working with gnome
<brads>
my initial issues loading Mali were related to missing groups for Mali udev rules, its now loading but I keep seeing errors relating to missing wl_drm and revert to software. checking drm and cogl packages now

hikey wayland libMali seems to be missing gbm_surface_create_with_modifiers when trying to link libgbm.so & libwayland-egl.so, I guess I should check the newer amlogic releases and maybe rockchip

same result with libmali-utgard-450-r7p0-wayland.so & libmali-utgard-450-r7p0-gbm.so for rockchip, amlogic will take some time for me to download but I guess I wont get my hopes to high it has the gbm extensions needed

brads: no mali-450 libmali has the _with_modifier calls, the only workaround is to comment the calls to the modifiers variant in Weston & co

narmstrong: Thanks I might try to remove from mutter and see how it goes

mjourdan, the vdec driver is missing the MODULE_FIRMWARE macro, this doesn't change any functionality in the driver, but it is used for documentation purposes, I also think it is used by some scripts when generating distro images(especially initramfs based distros)
