<stdint> wadim_, so you are the Egorov Wadim
<stdint> if you have know what you want to from here
<stdint> please close that issue at redmine
<wadim_> yes, it's me. Ok, I will close it
<wadim_> well, my plan is to use the vpu drivers for the rk3288 with a recent kernel version. unfortunately I am not really into the v4l stuff. So I need a starting point :/

<stdint> wadim_, once I solve the problem VA-API, you could go back to v4l2
<phh> wadim_: you want h264? h265? 4k?
<wadim_> I want to use h264 and vp8 decoding. 4K would be cool, but I think hd and fullhd is enough for now
<phh> stdint: vaapi/v4l2 handles vp8?
<stdint> phh, no
<phh> stdint: so wadim_'s only option is gstreamer? or gstreamer doesn't have vp8 either?
<stdint> phh, the kernel supports that, but I never write a parser at vaapi driver
<phh> stdint: but gstreamer uses mpp, so it has vp8 parser, no?
<stdint> phh, yes. but mpp don't have a parser for vp8 at rk3288 as well
<phh> oh ok
<stdint> but for rk3399, it does
<phh> good, can you send me a rk3399 chromebook? :P
<stdint> I don't have enough money to buy one
<phh> wow
mrjay has joined #linux-rockchip
<wadim_> is h264 working with the gstreamer and the kernel you have pushed on github?
<mrjay> anyone having problem booting on current linux-next?
<stdint> yes, both HEVC and AVC
<stdint> mrjay, the mmc?
<mrjay> stdint: yes
<stdint> mrjay, yes, I am planning to report that
<phh> wadim_: if you only care about h264, I have vaapi/v4l2 working with some patches on 4.9
<stdint> but I don't know what has happened
<mrjay> stdint: ok ... thanks
<stdint> mrjay, but you could report that and CC me
<wadim_> phh: yes, do you have the source somewhere? :)
<wadim_> btw, what is your plan phh? Do you also need vp8?
<phh> https://github.com/phhusson/rockchip_forwardports/blob/master/rockchip-vpu/PATCHES this is the list of patches that have to be ported
<phh> you'll find those patches on top of 4.9 in https://github.com/phhusson/linux/
<phh> wadim_: ATM I don't really plan to do much more than just forward porting
<wadim_> ok
<phh> (oh ther is mali driver as well if you're interested)
<wadim_> I already have ported the recent mali drivers

<wadim_> hm ethernet is not working on my rk3288 board with 4.9 kernel :(
<wadim_> oh nvm I have to enable the io_domains now
<rperier> mmind00: I have found, if I switch to your branch tmp/rk3188-2 and then I uncomment the function dm_init_and_scan(), it works perfectly fine
<rperier> (otherwise the virtual root driver is not populated and then not found)
<rperier> at least I get a prompt :)
<mmind00> rperier: glad to hear that
nighty has quit [Quit: Disappears in a puff of smoke]
<rperier> so we have the "basis" (including clock handling, mach, pinctrl) then, we can port other drivers like sdmmc typically ? (dw_mmc.c exists but we have to write the DT-binding)
<rperier> nice job
<rperier> (at least I don't find it in uboot mainline)
<mmind00> rperier: rk3288 and rk3036 already use the dw_mmc, so there shouldn't be a big problem
<mmind00> rperier: and I'm hoping on solving the SPL issue now as well, after getting some clues what is happening there
<wadim_> phh: from which kernel tree did you imported the rockchip-vpu: Import rockchip-vpu as of 028bc40a6d227cb553236588c43f35ad7ae2af97

<diego71_> hi, I'm testing debian with a kernel 4.7, on a firefly-rk3288, but ethernet doesn't work. The only error I found is:
<diego71_> rk_gmac-dwmac ff290000.ethernet: phy regulator is not available yet, deferred probing
