So, the mali midgard kernel component is available as a tarball. Can I build that against a mainline kernel, then use a binary userland component from the ChromeOS repos to get video acceleration?

So, I'd need to use the ChromeOS kernel to use the ChromeOS userland binary component. I guess I'll ditch that idea again. I just don't have the time to invest in it.
