<TomTheDragon> Is there any rockchip based laptop out there that supports Linux besides the Pinebook Pro? Those still appear to be out of stock.

<robmur01> indy: the upstream Rock Pi 4 devicetree doesn't seem to have any audio stuff described (apart from HDMI), so that would need to be added
<robmur01> looks like it's using an ES8316 codec same as RockPro64, so I don't think there's any reason it shouldn't be able to work

<indy> robmur01, in armbian i saw some patch. not sure why they don't submit that to upstream
<macc24> TomTheDragon: rk3288 and rk3399 chromebooks
<TomTheDragon> macc24: yes, there are chromebooks out there, I know... but do they run any 'normal' distros (e.g. debian/armbian/etc?)
<macc24> TomTheDragon: archlinuxarm runs on them
<macc24> and some debians too(prawnos and cadmium)
<macc24> there isn't really anything special about chromebooks other than kernel packaging and weird hardware sometimes
<TomTheDragon> well, was concerned mainly with the weird bootloader stuff. I only really know uboot. and of course, there's the dtbs
<TomTheDragon> found prawnos, cadmium... well, google search is not being helpful.
<macc24> "cadmium linux"
<macc24> if you try hard enough you can make whatever else run on it that doesn't touch other partitions
<TomTheDragon> oh i see... was finding audio stuff
<TomTheDragon> thanks for the information
<mps> TomTheDragon: I run alpine linux on 3 different chromebooks
<mps> even made kernel pkg for alpine linux for rk3399-gru-kevin and pushed to official repo but didn't announced it yet
<mps> I mean, didn't announced here
<uis> Who have rk3328trm part2?
<macc24> lol i thought rk817-battery broke, it turns out that taking a nap with device powered on is bad
<macc24> it discharged the battery xD
