Hello. I have a question related to Cedrus. Did anybody try to run cedrus + v4l2_request with gstreamer + vaapi with any success?

prefixcactus: do you have documentation about this SoM? Don't need to disclose or publish it, just want to know if you can look things up
<apritzel>
prefixcactus: it seems like most of the AXP rails are not routed to the SoM connector? Except for 3.3V and the essential ones (PS, ACIN, VBAT, VBUS)?
<apritzel>
prefixcactus: and instead there are extra regulators on the board, for 1.8V and VCC_3V67?
<prefixcactus>
Not about the SoM, no. Only about the devboard
<prefixcactus>
Not about the SoM internals, no. Only about the devboard
<prefixcactus>
I do have the SoM pinout, obviously
mmarc__ has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
<apritzel>
prefixcactus: but this just basically just names, as shown on page 2 of the OKA40i devboard schematics?
<apritzel>
like T21_UART7_TX

apritzel: yes
<prefixcactus>
There are some power pin descriptions that specify which are power in and which are power out
<prefixcactus>
but for the most part just names
Danct12 has joined #linux-sunxi
<apritzel>
So I see: ACIN, VBAT, USBVBUS, PS, VCC_3V3, which look like AXP pins
<prefixcactus>
ACIN and VBAT are spec'd as power input pins, PS and VCC_3V3 as PMIC output
<apritzel>
plus TS, PWRON and CHGLED, DRVVBUS, which are not carrying power directly
<apritzel>
I see, makes sense
<prefixcactus>
nothing is said of USBVBUS, but there's a voltage range of 3.9-6.3V, so I suspect it's a PMIC output also
<prefixcactus>
PWRON is described as "Power key, hung it if not use, when supply by VBAT, this key will be used". I don't know how it will be used, but probably not for power delivery.
<prefixcactus>
CHGLED looks like an indicator
<prefixcactus>
USB0_DRVVBUS seems to be directly routed to ball V21
<prefixcactus>
I don't know what TS is
<MoeIcenowy>
prefixcactus: TS is Thermal Sensor, connect to a 10kR thermal resistor bound to the battery
<MoeIcenowy>
(the other side of the resistor is connected to GND
<MoeIcenowy>
(or if you do not have such a resistor come with your battery, connect TS to a regular 10kR to GND, otherwise the PMIC may refuse to charge battery
<apritzel>
MoeIcenowy: they have a note about this in the schematic
<MoeIcenowy>
prefixcactus: are you sure USB0_DRVVBUS is a GPIO, not an AXP pin?
<apritzel>
MoeIcenowy: "If the battery has a thermistor, it will not be soldered R208."
<MoeIcenowy>
I think AXP221s has a N_VBUSEN pin
<MoeIcenowy>
which can also work as DRVVBUS
<prefixcactus>
MoeIcenowy: well, there's a ball number assigned to it
<MoeIcenowy>
koay
<MoeIcenowy>
okay
lucascastro has joined #linux-sunxi
<prefixcactus>
It might be routed to something else as well though, the only thing I know from this table is that it connects to a pin on the soc
<prefixcactus>
looks like it's used for software sensing
<apritzel>
prefixcactus: you didn't describe the OTG port yet anyways, so that's something to worry about later
<prefixcactus>
true
<apritzel>
what is interesting that all AXP rails stay on the SoM, except the VCC_3V3 one
<apritzel>
(which would be good to know which rail this is, exactly)
<apritzel>
DCDC1?

btw, is there an AXP datasheet that's not in chinese?
messpl has quit [Ping timeout: 265 seconds]
<wens>
the newer ones are in English
<MoeIcenowy>
oops I checked 3 copies of AXP221s datasheet here
<MoeIcenowy>
all in Chinese
<wens>
the axp223 one is in English
<wens>
and it's pretty much the same thing as the AXP221(s), except for the interface
<apritzel>
I figured once you have grasped the concept of the AXPs in general, the language of the datasheet doesn't really matter, since the actual parameters (register addresses, voltage ranges) are readable anyway
<apritzel>
and for the hidden gems we have wens and MoeIcenowy to ask about ;-)

messpl: latest version of gstreamer supports Cedrus directly, without any intermediate layer like VAAPI, but be sure to use latest kernel too
