<lekernel> _florent_, new FSM API http://pastebin.com/zHEiVNMf
<lekernel> allows any hashable Python type to be used as state name
<_florent_> ok I will look at it
<_florent_> what is it for? ;) generate configurable FSM?

<lekernel> clean up the redundant/ugly FSM syntax
<lekernel> ie the state list in the constructor is unnecessary now
<lekernel> which also simplifies building dynamic FSMs
<_florent_> ok I see
<lekernel> there's also an AnonymousState class for those dynamic FSMs
<lekernel> each instance of it represents a unique state
<_florent_> coding in VHDL must be a real pain for you that removes the redundancies everywhere ;)
<lekernel> yeah, VHDL is a terrible language
<larsc> it's a academic language
<wpwrak> each language area seems to have its COBOL. protocol specification/modelling has SDL ...
<larsc> vhdl is the ada of the hdl languages
<GitHub156> [migen] sbourdeauducq pushed 1 new commit to master: http://git.io/MrxzNA
<GitHub156> migen/master b56cb3c Sebastien Bourdeauducq: fhdl/verilog: improve error reporting
<wpwrak> hmm, does that make ADA the COBOL of structured programming ?
<larsc> and to be honest when compared with verilog I think vhdl is the nicer language
<wpwrak> i think verilog has the potential of being a great language. it just doesn't use it.
<larsc> verilog is more of an accident than a language ;)
<lekernel> lol I missed that out
<lekernel> was looking at that MCB_PERFORMANCE option from the LX9 port
<lekernel> there's really nothing right in the slowtan6
<lekernel> rjo, hi
<lekernel> rjo, another thing - Pins(*"H12 G13 E16 E18 K12 K13 F17 F18".split()) would be better written as Pins("H12 G13 E16 E18 K12 K13 F17 F18")
<lekernel> feel free to send a patch that automatically splits strings containing spaces

<wpwrak> maybe the true purpose of the spartans is to probe how much xilinx can get away with. then they can permanently lower their standards in future products.
<lekernel> for a very bad experience with suppliers, try vacuum engineering instead of electronics engineering. for example, here is the email I got today in response a complaint about paying $350 for shipping instead of $180: http://pastebin.com/nHQg7w0V
<lekernel> and that was the 4th order, the first 3 (at other suppliers) were rejected or ignored
<wpwrak> probably dual use technology :)
<larsc> military grade vacuum tubes?
<lekernel> I'm very skeptical of this "dual use" mentality; there are much easier ways to build bombs etc. that don't involve high vacuum pumps
<wpwrak> whoops, the whole wall of PRISM control stations just went to red alert
<larsc> I wonder if there is dual use ferilizer ;)
<lekernel> larsc, replacement parts for a rotary vane pump, fluid for the same, exhaust oil filter, and some KF25 hardware
<lekernel> nothing fancy actually
<larsc> what do you use that stuff for though?
<lekernel> trying to do this sort of stuff
<larsc> interesting
Scopeuk-AFK is now known as Scopeuk
<lekernel> rjo, so you are building this sort of thing? http://phys.org/news71414204.html
<davidc__> lekernel: what are you doing with vacuuum gear?
<davidc__> oh, nevermind
