<ysionneau> ah, you renamed "milkymist" to "m-labs"
<ysionneau> it will break a lot of links :/
<ysionneau> should we stay on #milkymist? or are we moving to some brand new shiny #m-labs ? :)
<ysionneau> I wonder what's the purpose of all those renamings
<lekernel> 'milkymist' refers to milkdrop-on-fpga. the scope of the project has quite changed since then :) and yes, there is #m-labs
<ysionneau> that's right, m-labs fits better to describe the "entity"/bundle that does the different projects: Mixxeo/Migen/MiSoC/Milkymist SoC
<ysionneau> it's just that by renaming things and changings channels/urls (github) usually you lose visibility
<ysionneau> you might lose a few interesting people hanging in here when moving to m-labs
<lekernel> better do that well before the mixxeo launch :)
<lekernel> and this channel is not closed yet
<ysionneau> hum, you're right I guess
<ysionneau> how is it going for Mixxeo btw?
<ysionneau> -going+doing
<lekernel> doing fine :) now most of the basic things work: 720p60, runtime resolution switching without bugs, etc.
<lekernel> industrial design is making rapid progress those days
<ysionneau> you got out of the edid/whatnot/multi-standard resolution declaration hell?
<lekernel> after I that I need to design the front panel board (with AMOLED display and controls)
<lekernel> yeah, I have a rather simple solution that seems to work fine... but tested on 2 linux + 1 mac os computers only so far
<ysionneau> ok, it's on the right track then :)
<lekernel> mac os works particularly well; when you switch resolution on the mixxeo it automatically picks and enables the right one :)
<ysionneau> what sort of standard to drive amoled display?
<ysionneau> it's not dvi is it?
<lekernel> no, it's that I€€€ MIPI crap... I managed to get docs, but it's been difficult
<ysionneau> arg, another warm hell-ish interface to come
<lekernel> confidential, asks for expensive I€€€ subscription fees, etc.
<ysionneau> I hope you won't have legal issues whith shipping a product which implements such an interface
<lekernel> I have not signed anything :)
<ysionneau> sometimes that's the legal issue :p
<ysionneau> you having signed or paid :p
<ysionneau> haven't*
<lekernel> in that case, all they have is copyright, trademarks and patents
<lekernel> copyright and trademark won't be a problem - I'm not distributing their docs nor branding stuff as MIPI
<lekernel> patents, maybe
<ysionneau> ok
<ysionneau> do you feel you have anough people interested in Mixxeo to start production?
<ysionneau> some nice guy sent me a big list of forum about VJ
<ysionneau> maybe you already know most of them
<ysionneau> forums/groups/blogs/facebook groups
<ysionneau> I'm forwarding it to you in case you want to do some advertising
<sh4rm4> hmm... https://github.com/milkymist -> 404
<larsc> can't you setup redirects on github?
<lekernel> there are redirects for the repositories, e.g. https://github.com/milkymist/misoc but not for the organization page
<larsc> I see
<ysionneau> ah great! so direct links to old repositories still work
<ysionneau> good
