I'm wondering about the portability of a little program I wrote
<
Snark>
I'm using lablgtk2, a wrapper around expat
<
Snark>
which should be quite ok
<
Snark>
but I'm using a little the Unix module
<
Snark>
mainly to get a socket and turn it into a Glib.Io channel
<
mflux>
I don't do windows, but I've heard windows too has a unix-module, I assumed that meant without cygwin too
<
mflux>
submarine, ocamlmklib btw doesn't have a -cc -flag?
<
mflux>
atleast as of 3.08.2..
<
Submarine>
ocamlc does
<
mflux>
well, I'll propably try that again on monday
<
Submarine>
how about ocamlmklib -ocamlc 'ocamlc -cc whatever'?
<
Submarine>
how about ocamlmklib -ocamlopt 'ocamlopt -cc whatever'?
<
mflux>
I did just that
<
mflux>
but maybe I did something wonr
<
mflux>
I didn't use ocamlopt though
<
mflux>
maybe that's the problem
<
Snark>
mflux: I meant win32 in general
<
mflux>
snark, I'd imagine the best way to find out would be to grab a windows machine and try it out?-)
<
Snark>
grabbing a windows machine is non-trivial -- the only I have access too is my parents'
<
Snark>
and I guess they won't like me installing a build system
<
Snark>
well, I'll see if I can do that discretly ;-)
<
Snark>
is there some portable way to compile an ocaml program?
<
Snark>
I'm using a custom-made Makefile
<
mflux>
I think there are build systems written in ocaml..
