<ylluminate> i just popped this up on hacker news to see what would happen, you might upvote it: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=6969302
<meh`> promises in the stdlib might have been more interesting :P
<ylluminate> oh yeah!
<ylluminate> put that in a comment :D
<ylluminate> sorry about that
<ylluminate> just trying to generate some buzz and only had like 80 chars
<meh`> or string inheritance
<meh`> I've silently added some cool stuff this christmas
<ylluminate> meh`: you like my comment?
<meh`> also we've almost hit 3000 passing RubySpecs
<meh`> ylluminate, also yes
<ylluminate> man, truckin'
<ryanstout> how many rubyspec's are there?
<meh`> ryanstout, a lot
<e_dub> its over 9000
<ryanstout> making progress :-)

<fkchang> ryanstout: I think e_dub was making a reference to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SiMHTK15Pik
<ryanstout> ah. saw that with a jruby talk
<ylluminate> ah freak, you beat me to it fkchang
<ylluminate> lol

<fkchang> ryanstout: yeah actually e_dub was one of the GSOC interns mentioned in that talk
<ryanstout> cool

<e_dub> lol yeah, just being silly, although i think there are actually a ridiculously large number of rubyspecs
<ylluminate> hey fkchang what do you include in your irb. i was fiddling with that output you posted the other day to std_io, saw that he had tabs in it again that blew it up, but after that there was an odd error about alert not being included so i assumed it was an additional inclusion that was not immediately evident from the js includes on the html
<fkchang> ylluminate: I include opal-jquery, opal-browser. It's relatively old opal (0.4.4), the 0.5 series changed added a compiler class that I haven't had a chance to catch up with.
<fkchang> I also have a require_js method that you can point to a js file on the internet to do a live in, don't remember if I pushed it up to the github.io page
<ylluminate> i figured it was opal-browser that was the hangup
<ylluminate> but i didn't see includes for those specifically in your source
<fkchang> ylluminate: hmm, do u know if meh fixed it head?
<ylluminate> so i was a little discombobulated when i saw that :|
<ylluminate> the tabs issue?
<ylluminate> oh, no, i mean not getting -browser
<ylluminate> the explosion on the alert made me figure opal-browser was missing
<ylluminate> i know meh` did fix an issue on head a couple weeks ago
<ylluminate> allowed us to move forward on using it for a project where we are needing to use canvas
<ylluminate> we're doing some pretty heavily graphics intensive stuff
<fkchang> is there stuff u need that would make opal-irb useful to you? It's due for some attention that I hope to do over the holiday
<ylluminate> what we really need as we'd briefly chatted about the other day is a central service to pull down anything we need from a builder tool that provides a cdn like http://mootools.net/more/
<ylluminate> hmm, good question fkchang. i am quite enamored with pry and kind of using that as a model is "a good thing"
<ylluminate> i've got a 24 core / 32GB server that i could perhaps contribute some cycles to opal from for various niceties
<ylluminate> bbiab
<meh`> ylluminate, if that's the case, I need some kind of CI for different browsers
<meh`> to run opal-browser specs
<ylluminate> let me know what you'd like to put together
<ylluminate> also fkchang, where does your irb really stand functionality wise and what have you had in mind for priorities?
<fkchang> ylluminate: opal-irb has most of what I want for it now. When we get the code/comments storage ihn opal going, I was going to put more effort into the opal-inspector. While I'm waiting for that I've been pursuing some other things I think are useful. If you have some particular feature in mind, I could switch gears
<ylluminate> i'll talk to another guy here tomorrow and we'll brainstorm fkchang
<ylluminate> try to ascertain what seems most important

<meh`> adambeynon, ping
<ylluminate> so elia and meh` on that ticket we've commented on, would it help to get an account set up on a server that i admin to just have a sandbox to start working? it's a centos cpanel box, but i can customize it at will
<ylluminate> right now i'm also working on trying to get a ci going for meh` that incorporates virtualized browsers for testing; we could also install that on this server as i've briefly discussed with meh`
<meh`> ylluminate, sounds good
<meh`> I already have something in mind
