<alyssa> Figured out how to get QWERTY Hebrew :P
<alyssa> obligatory שלמ
<alyssa> erm
<alyssa> שלם
<alyssa> I can spell yes
<HdkR> It's all hebrew to me
<urjaman> *snort*
<urjaman> yup :D
<alyssa> Oh uh
<alyssa> שלום
<alyssa> I guess
<alyssa> I don't speak Hebrew okay :V
<urjaman> me neither, so ...
<ente> neither do I
<ente> why'd you set it as your keyboard layout?
<alyssa> I needed to type some Hebrew text the other day \shrug/

<alyssa> Lyude: ..alright, you win, I'll try putting panfrost back in with mesa and using merges instead of rebase
<hanetzer> oh yay, no more separate panfrost+mesa repos?
<hanetzer> will make ebuilds and such done :)
<alyssa> We'll -see-
<alyssa> 47 files changed, 16778 insertions(+)
<alyssa> ^^ the panfrost directory commit
<alyssa> And, heck, while we're at it let's make this master, instead of the confusing "upstream-overlay"
jernej has joined #panfrost
<alyssa> Okay, yeah, mesa:master is the canonical home of panfrost now, at least until I change my mind ;P
<alyssa> Instructions have been updated accordingly
<alyssa> hanetzer: thefloweringash: Lyude: probably others: ^^
<alyssa> anarsoul: ^^ since IIRC you bugged me about that a lot way back (or was that adjtm?)
<anarsoul> that was me
<tomeu> cool!

<Lyude> alyssa: yay
<Lyude> let me know when that's done and I'll just do a pull request for the meson.build changes afterwards
<hanetzer> Lyude: seems to be done
<hanetzer> another question: what are the two type of mali cards' names panfrost is supposed to work for? Midgard and Bifrost, right?
<HdkR> That is the goal
paulk-leonov has quit [Ping timeout: 260 seconds]
<hanetzer> yeah. just needed the names to make the VIDEO_CARDS="panfrost" string description

<Lyude> hanetzer: VIDEO_CARDS="panfrost"?
<hanetzer> Lyude: yeah. on gentoo, when you install gfx drivers, you set a setting, VIDEO_CARDS, to a string describing what video cards you have on the system
<Lyude> ooooh, right-I forgot you were doing an ebuild
<Lyude> (I used to use gentoo a while ago btw :)
<Lyude> hanetzer: anyway-are you OK with the plan I mentioned the weekend before last, trying to get panfrost working with the latest kernel driver from arm first before going onto seeing if we want our own kernel driver?
<Lyude> since it only really seems to work with older versions of the driver at this point
<hanetzer> Lyude: yeah, sounds good. can you point me at the newer driver's source?
<hanetzer> I'm also going to make a gentoo dkms-style driver for that
<Lyude> hanetzer: I'm currently using the source from chewitt @ amlogic with some modifications to make it load on the T820; https://github.com/chewitt/meson_gx_mali_t820
<Lyude> i think they have the canonical source somewhere on arm's website
<Lyude> you may or may not need to make additional modifications to the kernel driver to get it working, depending on how lucky you are!
<hanetzer> so we're talking TX011-SW-99002-r27p0-01rel0.tgz then?
<Lyude> hanetzer: I believe so; yeah
<Lyude> hanetzer: yep, the kernel driver on amethyst only seems to be one release behind that
