<ndufresne>
the TRM does not give much clue about the DSP and it's instruction set
<ndufresne>
the DSP was likely used to implement audio codec
<ndufresne>
(mp3, etc.)
<pcbBob>
No, it doesn't have a GPU. I was just wondering whether anyone encountered it in any project. Sorry if this is the wrong chat to ask for something like that

pcbBob: the DSP appears to be a ZSP500.
<chrisf>
it appears there's no open toolchain for it, so you can either throw money at verisilicon for the toolchain, or RE it yourself
<pcbBob>
At the moment my focus of interest is how to get Code into the SoC and how to setup the memory interface, not so much the DSP
<pcbBob>
chrisf Where did you get the information that it might be a ZSP500?
<chrisf>
ugh, ive already closed all those pages :)
<pcbBob>
Thank you so much! This seems to be exactly what I was looking for

quick questions if anyone is around
<chrisf>
- if i only want to work on the userspace driver, do i even want to replace the kernel with something including panfrost, or is 4.4 + the nondrm glue a better plan
<chrisf>
- does anyone have notes on how to set this up
