<kristianpaul>
i'm working on getting telemtry, onces this came stable and with no problem, any gps/gnss/lib can work with the navigation data and get a fix point
<kristianpaul>
license...
<kristianpaul>
ask Werner ;-)
<kristianpaul>
he is the speaker anyway i guess
<wolfspraul>
yeah I just hope the guy holding the camera doesn't think his part is the most important...
<kristianpaul>
yes, i'm editing wiki as i'll ge crazy if dont document steps i'm following
<kristianpaul>
low? well, my home dsl link is not the faster of the town :)
<wolfspraul>
if the license is acceptable I'll upload the high-res version into the Qi wiki for archival
<wolfspraul>
kristianpaul: ok keep talking about gps, sorry. I am downloading the low-res first and will check the license.
<wolfspraul>
so it's moving forward slowly?
<kristianpaul>
yes as always :)
<wolfspraul>
what is bad?
<wolfspraul>
yes
<wolfspraul>
:-)
<wolfspraul>
bit by bit
<wolfspraul>
:-)
<wolfspraul>
but that's good, it allows for some thinking in between, and good documentation
<kristianpaul>
is not bad, i just noticed i can improve speed if if ducment all better
<kristianpaul>
even what is not clear to me yet
<wolfspraul>
great
<kristianpaul>
i hate every weeked have to recall what was that i was having problems with and so on, so you can imagin my mess :)
<kristianpaul>
but namuru hdl, should be generally ok, now, what lacks and i'm working on is the acquisition algoryth that will allow later to track satelites
<kristianpaul>
once that work and is stable, i can celebrate a little here :)
<kristianpaul>
Artyom is moving forward too, so now i have more excuses to speedup ;)
<wolfspraul>
good
<wolfspraul>
the documentation part is great
<wolfspraul>
interesting thought that the weekend rhythm forces you to document well :-)
<wolfspraul>
kinda makes sense, I will think more about this idea...
<kristianpaul>
i work that way, or with task for a day within week. if cant resolve the problem in one day (actually when i traveling back to home in the bus), then i make some notes for weekedn
<kristianpaul>
but afaik some notes get lost.. i need to find better way to sync
<wolfspraul>
I downloaded the low-res video, no license info at all
<wolfspraul>
I will just assume the cc-by-sa from the presentation
<wolfspraul>
and I will download high-res, the quality is pretty bad in low
<wpwrak>
(video license dunno) they made everyone sign a release form but i don't even know what exactly it says :) from my side, all is under cc-by-sa
<kristianpaul>
high-res link dint look like, even when the labels match quite
<wpwrak>
(video finally released) that was quick :)
<wolfspraul>
kristianpaul: didn't look like?
<wolfspraul>
you mean the high-res video contains another talk?
<kristianpaul>
yes
<kristianpaul>
android
<kristianpaul>
vlc told me
<wolfspraul>
where is Werner's high-res talk then?
<kristianpaul>
i wish i know too :)
<roh>
kristianpaul: ack. checked the file
<kristianpaul>
btw may be the ogg file have more medatada like license, but vlc dint make that obvious
<wolfspraul>
first I try to find Werner in high-res
<kristianpaul>
vlc showed the tittle, and if i forward a bit i can see finally slides with links and listen questions so yes it is
<kristianpaul>
dont ask why, i jsut went trial error,
<roh>
hm... meh.. yes..
<wolfspraul>
well excellent!
<wolfspraul>
thanks so much!
<wolfspraul>
we will pull out out of this pile of data anyway
<roh>
seems the same file. and i thought our congress (ccc) videos are shitty named ;)
<wolfspraul>
it's a difficult problem, but amazing that in most cases it's so bad
<roh>
low is 400x300 video + audio in 22khz at 60kbit
<roh>
high is 640x480 video + 22khz audio at 67kbit
<wolfspraul>
great milkymist one is in fact high-res
<kristianpaul>
small pc :-)
<wolfspraul>
back when I had EGA 640x480 was indeed unreachable
<wpwrak>
all this stuff it probably not done by the free software geeks of fisl but by the company that organized the conference. they still live in blissful ignorance in their closed world :)
<roh>
give that low is 101 and high 108mbyte,.. forget low
<wpwrak>
heh, makes me remember how i hated those slow color graphics cards. had an ET4000. hated it. then finally the 2D-accelerated S3 801 came along and i was happy :)
<wolfspraul>
sorry I meant my 320x200 CGA
<roh>
wpwrak: its theora video and ogg audio.. i am sure some nerd encoded it
<wpwrak>
CGA. oh dear :)
<wolfspraul>
roh: low is really bad
<wolfspraul>
in addition to a bad recording angle
<wolfspraul>
at least they used a tripod :-)
<wpwrak>
roh: hmm, maybe
<wolfspraul>
I haven't even listened to audio yet, sitting at a noisy starbucks. but my expectations will surely be exceeded :-)
<roh>
its understandable and doesnt have a 40db snr humm on it.. so you'll be fine
<kristianpaul>
audio is not bad
<kristianpaul>
what exlplain size, i guess is because all the talk is the slides and no moving werner on stage
<wpwrak>
i should use "actually" and "for instance" a bit less :)
<kristianpaul>
!top words
<kristianpaul>
!top ten words
<kristianpaul>
bah, few questions ..
<wpwrak>
yeah, and as far as i remember, i didn't answer them well. at the end, i was also running out of time. the talk just fit the time slot :)
<kristianpaul>
your voice noticed quite agitated indeed
<wpwrak>
i think that's how i usually talk :)
<kristianpaul>
oh, i tought was because want to fit time slot :)
<kristianpaul>
anyway, nice talk !!
<kristianpaul>
now you see it again, you think you missed something in the slides?
<kristianpaul>
looks very complete for me
<wpwrak>
thanks :) naw, nothing major missing. maybe the end could use a bit of restructuring
<wpwrak>
ah .. now i remember ... just before the talk, jon kindly treated me to a cup of coffee. and i was too polite to refuse. that had me in high gear :)
<kristianpaul>
xiangfu: Hello
<xiangfu>
hi
<kristianpaul>
Do you know why qvido is not included anymore in owrt releases?
<DocScrutinizer>
(Qi) ask Wolfgang. He should know how the chinese word shall be pronounced
<DocScrutinizer>
always considered it a strange "coincidence" that the bootloader is called the same like this enterprise
<DocScrutinizer>

drivers/mfd/jz4740-adc.c: In function 'jz4740_adc_probe':
<mth>
drivers/mfd/jz4740-adc.c:289:3: warning: passing argument 3 of 'mfd_add_devices' discards 'const' qualifier from pointer target type [enabled by default]
<mth>
include/linux/mfd/core.h:93:12: note: expected 'struct mfd_cell *' but argument is of type 'const struct mfd_cell *'
<larsc>
just a warning
<mth>
larsc: I got that warning before today's changes as well, probably switching to GCC 4.6 triggers it
<mth>
yes, but I like to keep the number of warnings as low as possible, so potentially serious things stand out
<mth>
the cleanest solution would be to update the prototype of mfd_add_devices, I guess
<larsc>
won't work. it was const before, but due to some ugly changes in the mfd core it can't be currently
<mth>
but is it safe then to pass a const to it?
<larsc>
yes and no ;)
<mth>
we could cast away the const until the mtd core is fixed
<mth>
or do you think that will be so soon it is not worth it?
<larsc>
I hope that it will be fixed, not sure if it is going to be soon though
<kristianpaul>
malicious circuit, rms at least is finding new words :)
<erikkugel>
hi guys, If wanted to make a USB to Ethernet (Cat5+RJ45) cable myself, to connect the Nanonote to an Ethernet port on a PC, which pins on the Ethernet Jack should I connect to the pins on the USB tip? Or, which cat5 wires should I connect to the 4 cables in a usb wire? I found some instructions online but there was no explanation. Should I just Connect D+ to D+ and D- to D- and leave power and grounding on the USB un-wired?
<wpwrak>
erikkugel: this doesn't seem to make sense at all. as far as i know, there's no compatibility at the physical layer between ethernet and usb. do you have a link to those instructions you found ?
