<whitequark>
hey DocScrutinizer05, I was looking at the status of Lima project and noticed that Mali-400 is used in STE Novathor
<whitequark>
that's what you are working on, right?
<DocScrutinizer05>
yep, another 2 weeks at end of this month
<DocScrutinizer05>
well, slightly beneath, I'm strctly working on LTE modem firmware
<DocScrutinizer05>
or rather, I did
<DocScrutinizer05>
while MAI400 is 'on the other side of fence" where I had massive difficulties to get my user accounts enabled to access gerrit and repos
<whitequark>
ah, right, you're/were the modem guy
<whitequark>
hm, MAI400?
<DocScrutinizer05>
(and yet don't have access to everything, some customers of STE have very sharp NDA requirements)
<DocScrutinizer05>
MALI
<rz2k>
weirdest thing about mali400 is that you have "official" opensource drivers for X, but you actually have them crippled, to compile them right you need Mali DDK.
<rz2k>
seems like term opensource has different meaning for ARM.
<whitequark>
well, Lima has almost working FOSS stack for Mali
<whitequark>
i.e. they have a rotated textured lighted cube rendered.
<whitequark>
it seems that only things left are proper vertex shared and actual Mesa integration
<whitequark>
rz2k: I'd say that fuck X, it should have been dead years ago. "fully modular software disaster", indeed.
<Ayla>
(fun fact: Flatmush, who work on Mali, owns a Dingoo and develop for it)
