<DocScrutinizer05>
wpwrak: (usb) right, the specs were not finalized last time I looked
<DocScrutinizer05>
only "reversible" been decided
<wpwrak>
i think even reversible was just a rumor back then. and the specs still aren't finalized. you're ahead of the time ;)
<DocScrutinizer05>
hmm, can't recall. Some few days ago I've read it somewhere on a website / blog, and it sounded like actual specs were not finalized but reversible been set as a property.
<wpwrak>
ah, that was some weeks ago. maybe you caught a more up to date update.
<DocScrutinizer05>
probably we seen same URL/blog
<DocScrutinizer05>
some weeks sounds about right
<DocScrutinizer05>
though I'm losing the date more often than not lately, too much to handle. Stuff I'd rather not like to touch at all

wow, this microkernel thing is getting out of hand ftp://Temp90523934364:TAG43tag@ftp.belkin.com/Temp90523934364/0028-mamba-mvebu-support-fan-operation.patch ftpftp://Temp90523934364:TAG43tag@ftp.belkin.com/Temp90523934364/0023-mamba-mvebu-fan-script.patch
<larsc>
for those who wonder that is a kernel driver that calls a userspace application, which is a shellscript which performs the register writes by calling a tool which writes to /dev/mem
<pcercuei>
microkernels are cool, you can write drivers in bash!

I'm more worried about >>calling a tool which writes to /dev/mem<<
<DocScrutinizer05>
iirc a simple `sudo cat /dev/mem` was enough to cause a kernel panic

wpwrak: for us it was really easy, it is the first time we could test with all the vdd and vss. We have not
<wpwrak>
ah, so just connecting all the power pins did it ? and i guess you added the capacitors as well, right ?
<zrafa>
made a new board yet. But I just soldered the two vdd and vss we had not connected, without caps. And I also soldered the vssa and vdda. I just wanted to test with the three vdd and the three vss plugged to vdd and vss from ubb
<zrafa>
wpwrak: no :P .. I did not add the capacitors yet.
<wpwrak>
wow. that was easier than i though. i suspected that what killed it were mainly the missing caps. especially since power comes from "far away" (the ben, with ubb, cable, and so on)
<zrafa>
wpwrak: the electronic student will try to design a new board with all the details I saved from your suggestions
<zrafa>
wpwrak: but I was hurry to try if the MCU is alive or not :)
<wpwrak>
perfect :) you can also look at the schematics of the FRDM-KL25Z or similar, for ideas. after all, that's basically freescale's reference design
<wpwrak>
you could even try to flash some code now. not sure if it'll work (because you don't have the caps), but trying it can't really hurt either
<zrafa>
wpwrak: yeah, we can try to flash something, you are right. we will try tomorrow :) I just left the uni office and at home now
<zrafa>
I will start with the wine at least. I will let the drugs for later :)
