<Batzy> vegankumpir: like a graphical tic-tac-toe?

<bremner> Batzy: not sure what you are interested in, but there is an online book called Beautiful Racket
<bremner> it has a certain point of view, but it does emphasize some things are fairly unique to racket (or at least to scheme)

<Batzy> I don't think I like books
<Batzy> idk
<Batzy> coding books
<aeth> there are two paths
<aeth> one is, yes, write a game
<aeth> the other is, imo, generate HTML
<aeth> Generating HTML is a pretty different experience in a Lisp vs. in most languages.
<aeth> Most languages use templates where you embed things within .html files, while most Lisps prefer using s-expressions to represent HTML structurally within their own source files.
<Batzy> that's an idea
<Batzy> aeth: i saw some code to host html but it looked horrible
<vegankumpir> html is horrible itself, actually. :)

<Batzy> vegankumpir: better than ((((((((((())))))))))) tbh
<aeth> ()s are only annoying until you get your editor to autobalance them for you. Then it's way more convenient than something like Python, which can't really ever be autoformatted to the same extent because the indentation carries semantic meaning
<aeth> (okay, maybe somebody found a way, but it's way harder)
<aeth> I mean, yeah, you give up a bit of source code aesthetics for it.
<aeth> But s-expressions in general are basically using low-level syntax to get high-level features, like macros or better/simpler auto-formatting

<dzoe> Is anyone using racket7.7 from focal fossa as http server with basic servlets? Apparently request-bindings/raw promise does not return anything for POST requests - although in request-post-data/raw is all the relevant stuff.
<dzoe> And I am kind of stuck on 7.7 from 20.04 LTS Ubuntu on this project.
<dzoe> Ok, I'll switch to JSON and create MWE with 7.8 - if the issue is still there.
