kentonv: it's a bummer... is there a way to make sandstorm use something like sandstorm.domain.tld/static instead of static.sandstorm.tld?
<kuba-orlik>
kentonv: I wonder why does sandstorm insist on dynamic subdomains, what's the reasoning behind this?
<kentonv>
kuba-orlik: it's not just for "static". The link above explains why we need it and answers FAQs.

Thank you, I'll read through it

FWIW we issue free wildcard certs if you choose to use sandcats.io
<kuba-orlik>
kentonv: Can I use sandcats.io wildcard certs if I want to run a separate http server on my vps? The default setup script does not seem to allow this
<kentonv>
no problem! Thanks for trying out Sandstorm.

If the domain name for each grain is changed each session, is it possible to run e.g. RadiCale with CalDAV sync? What address would I need to enter into the devices I want to sync it with?

Hey. So I'm having an issue with ethercalc where the actual grid part of the UI is just blank white; there are the tabs for the individual sheets, but the contents of the cheets are just not visible. Someone came in asking about the same problem a few weeks ago, which is when I noticed it, but never got around to dealing with it.
<dwrensha>
isd: does that happen for you on all Ethercalc grains?
<isd>
dwrensha: seems to happen with new ones; I only had one existing grain when the problem began.
<isd>
(which is still having this problem)
<dwrensha>
what browser?
<isd>
wait, hang on
<isd>
No, the new one eventually loaded
<isd>
firefox
<isd>
let me check chromium
<dwrensha>
on oasis?
<dwrensha>
(It seems to work for me)
<isd>
dwrensha: no, isd.sandcats.io
<isd>
haven't tried it elsewhere
<isd>
and yeah, seems to be an issue with existing spreadsheets
<kentonv>
Note that v0.181 had a bug that would cause the problem you describe. v0.182, released within hours, fixed it. This was all a couple weeks ago.
<kentonv>
looks like you're on the latest version, though
<kentonv>
I don't seem to be having any trouble opening Ethercalc in Chrome -- new or existing.
<isd>
Yeah, it finally loaded in chromium, so seems to be at least somewhat browser-dependant
