<Jerrylogansquare> hello, i just went through the 'Symbiflow on Arty board' quick steps, and it worked fine. Then I went to the symbiflow-examples, and the instructions were completely different.
<Jerrylogansquare> Is this IRC only for developers?

<sf-slack2> <acomodi> Hi Jerrylogansquare. The `SymbiFlow on arty board` steps are meant for the symbiflow-arch-defs repository, which is intended to generate all the required files for place and routing with VPR (architecture definitions, routing graph, etc.). Instead, symbiflow-examples uses a pre-built version of symbiflow-arch-defs which let you avoid generating all the necessary files and directly let you perform synthesis and P&R,
<sf-slack2> hence the difference in the instructions.

<Jerrylogansquare> sf-slack2 , thanks! i figured it might be something like that, but i had to be sure. It looks like the symbiflow-arch-defs getting started is more meant for symbliflow developers, since you have all repos there. I'll try the symbiflow-examples next.

<andrewb1999> daveshah: How do I generate files for the 7020? Looking at the CMake files on master the 7020 is commented out in some places and non-existant in other places.
<daveshah> andrewb1999: for the symbiflow-arch-defs side I'm not sure, someone else here will know more

<litghost> reces: The 7-series arch splits IO into two parts. The IO pad and I/O buffer are in LIOB and the I/O logic (e.g. serdes, I/ODDR0 is in the LIOI
<litghost> reces: symbiflow-arch-defs merges these into one cluster, but they can be treated however is convient for your purposes
