16:18 <sf-slack2> <p.vanleeuwen> I've ran into trouble using python3-dev before, so on this attempt I used the most recent version of python3 (3.8.2) instead of the one from apt (3.6.9) in the hope that that mattered... I will try installing python3-dev as well and rebuild Trellis. I'm using a virtual machine, would it be handy to upload the image?

16:30 <lambda> p.vanleeuwen: I'm not sure where your /usr/local/lib/libpython3.8.a comes from, but it seems to have been compiled without -fPIC. The apt version might work better in this case.
