<jomp16> Note: isn't a normal reboot, is a soft reboot, exception, bootanimation, starts Android

<cnnrblksl> So a stable cyanogenmod for the GS4 has just been released. After downloading the zip i looked through the cm install instructions for the jfltevzw and in the warnings it says that this version only works for a specific build. Of course, i dont have the cited build. How/can i get it? Is it really that critical to start out with the right build?

<jomp16> OMG, CMAccounts on top of GApps Settings? o.O
* jomp16 wants real GApps first setup instead of CM setup
<xheliox> OMG! Just hit the friggin skip button. Such drama.
RileyII has joined #teamhacksung-support
<jomp16> xheliox: the thing is: some setup screens are replaced by CM, some are from GApps, what is the point of creating a CM setup?
<jomp16> Maybe add a check, if has GApps, use GApps, and after show CMAccount setup, or if no GApps present, show CM setup
<xheliox> So you can use the CM find your phone feature?
PoliticsII has quit [Ping timeout: 248 seconds]
<jomp16> I even use CMAccount...
<xheliox> You know about it, what about people who don't?
<jomp16> And AOSPA is a bit messed on N4, some apps has their own preset, some no, in my opinion, why PA team don't remove all presets and make the stock UI as default, if user want to change something, he will know where is
<jomp16> Maybe the solution is build AOSP, and I built it (r3.1), but reboots when use GPS from Chrome, I will build r1.1 and see if issue is gone

<outterculd> Is there support or did I've to loose therse functions?
<Dieselhomey> Hi outterculd you will loose these functions...
<Dieselhomey> however you can always install a note taking app and still use the spen
<Dieselhomey> but i believe you will not be able to take screenshots, etc...
<outterculd> etc?
<outterculd> I don't wanna bother you, but I really need to know what I
<outterculd> vwhat I've to expect.
<Dieselhomey> CM will not support S Note as that requires touchwiz framework. As for S Pen, I guess you'd be able to use it like you normally do, but don't expect any size pen related functions that you see on touchwiz ROMs like quick command or air view
<outterculd> Maybe alternative Appnames.
<outterculd> Okay, thank you!
<outterculd> The most function is (I know it's imple) the notice function. To write something really fast down and so on.
<outterculd> Like a scribbled to-do list.
<outterculd> Is there any app who can do this like the original S-Note app?!

<DuperMan> no proprietaries?
<jomp16> Not hardware, because CM, AOSPA and stock factory don't crash...

<jomp16> Yes, Maps, GPS Test...
<DuperMan> so maybe something to do with accounts handovers/handling
<DuperMan> could not lock surface
<DuperMan> not sure about surface
<DuperMan> but either account through chrome management OR gps ain't handed over properly from somewhere
<jomp16> The strange part is, r1.1 = factory image, reboots, r3.1 = nexus 7, reboot
<jomp16> CM, AOSPA, stock works fine...
<jomp16> And they uses r3.1
<DuperMan> what did you change? you obviously did something not verbatim in the build process. or wait, only stock images from google fail?
<jomp16> no, only aosp fails
<jomp16> I only changed the model name from AOSP for Nexus 4 to Nexus 4
<DuperMan> 7
<jomp16> I want AOSP, because CM isn't anymore minimalist, I hate AOSPA for some unknown reason
<jomp16> stock... dunno
<DuperMan> guess stock has some differences for the devices, probably artificial segregation of stacks
<DuperMan> so while they almost work, and should, no matter the device name, they don't always do
<jomp16> And also I use custom kernel (franco), but nothing related, works on stock, aospa and cm
<DuperMan> .... dude. :)
<jomp16> For me, if CM, AOSPA, etc is based on AOSP, they will reboot too, but, nothing
<jomp16> Will try with stock kernel
<DuperMan> you're building the roms but using a multi-dist compatible kernel?
<DuperMan> weirdlike. yeah :)
<jomp16> huh?
<jomp16> stock kernel is a prebuilt one from Google
<DuperMan> so all were prebuilts? xD
<jomp16> My build system is Arch Linux, on a chroot
<jomp16> franco Kernel has two kernel, one for JRW, other for JSS+
<DuperMan> oh oh ok. starting to get it, beside why franco and not your own at build
<jomp16> Because I love franco kernel...
<jomp16> Will try stock now
<DuperMan> thumb up. sorry franco flopped
<jomp16> stock kernel has UI glitches...
<jomp16> also, reboots from Chrome..

<Ceiu> Yo, anyone awake?
<nebkat> Ceiu: nope
<Ceiu> Drat.
<Ceiu> So where is the best place to report/inquire about a bug.
<Ceiu> ?
<frankdrey> Ceiu, i'm fast asleep
<frankdrey> depends on the bug :P
<frankdrey> tell it
<Ceiu> Galaxy SII running latest CM10.2 nightly. Audio is disabled/non-functional while docked. Tried to check the "dock" audio config, but it's disabled in the configuration.

<Ceiu> It's the 9100 SII (international?), if that matters.

<Ceiu> Also, I noticed the behavior while running the 9/17 nightly. Could be in earlier versions, but I'm not sure.
<Ceiu> Now that I think about it, dock audio might work, but my dock isn't hooked up to any speakers. I just want it to play through the speakers and don't seem to have a way to change that.

<Ceiu> Well then.
<jomp16> args, #blameAOSP
<Ceiu> Is it an issue in AOSP? Seems like a good issue, then. If it were in some of the closed source binaries like the last issue I cared enough about to ask, it could be a very long time before it's fixed.
