Anyone here? I was wondering what you do to encrypt your external SD. I used encrypted ext SD back on my official samsung rom on my galaxy s4 i9505 but I now see that the Cyanogenmod 11 does not give me the option to encrypt the ext sd.

jomp16: Hey jomp16 - are you there?
<temp_>
I was able to get the last_kmsg log file right after a reboot.
<temp_>
I think it was something to do with the kernel. Can I post it somewhere like a paste bin?
kalpik has joined #teamhacksung-support
<jomp16>
temp_, yeah
<temp_>
jomp16: Is there anything that I should worry about (as far as security) in the log?
<temp_>
I looked quickly though it, but most of it I don't understand
<temp_>
towards the end - [518.038913] Kernel Panic not syncing: subsys-restart: Resetting the SoC - modem crashed. [ 518.146497] Rebooting in 5 seconds..
plastikman has joined #teamhacksung-support
<jomp16>
temp_, we found the problem: kernel panic, because of modem's crash
<jomp16>
maybe Sammy blob fault, or the kernel
<temp_>
I've tried every kernel that supports CM.
<jomp16>
same thing?
<jomp16>
the root of problem is modem, kernel just reboots because device need the modem
<temp_>
yes. and this has been happening since I got the phone. As soon as I put CM on (I think 9 was the first code base that was available), I started getting these issues.
<jomp16>
dunno if modem is a binary thing, or included in kernel
<temp_>
is there something that the TouchWiz kernel is handling differently?
<temp_>
It seems to be a very rare issue. In XDA, on any CM based ROM's board I ask, I appear to be the only one experiencing these issues
<jomp16>
so, maybe you are the lucky guy, with a broken device...
<temp_>
I know that in CM9, I got an error instead of the reboot.
<temp_>
:-) Lucky me!!
<jomp16>
tried with stock Sammy to see if reboots?
<temp_>
stock is fine
<temp_>
never get a reboot
<jomp16>
hmm
<jomp16>
really, I dunno...
<jomp16>
frankdrey, sup ma boy
<temp_>
jomp16: Do you think that one of the kernel devs might have some insight? This is completely foreign to me.
<jomp16>
what device?
<frankdrey>
Hey
<temp_>
it's the GS3 for Sprint
<temp_>
right now, I'm using decimalman's kernel. But like I said, the 'stock' CM kernel does the same thing. So does any other kernel that will work with CM
freedomrun has joined #teamhacksung-support
<jomp16>
temp_, tried with other custom ROM?
<jomp16>
To see if is kernel fault, or ROM fault
<temp_>
tried with just about every other ROM available. All CM based ROMs are effected. All TouchWiz based ROMs are fine
Schnabeltierchen has quit [Ping timeout: 244 seconds]
<jomp16>
err, no other ROM available? Like AOSPA, AOKP, etc
<jomp16>
not based in CM and TW
Schnabeltierchen has joined #teamhacksung-support
<temp_>
For us (as far as I know) they are all based off the CM code. I'm running Liquid Smooth right now, previously tested PAC-Man AIO, Carbon, Slim-rom...are there others that are not based on CM?
<jomp16>
not much
<jomp16>
because CM = god
<frankdrey>
Lies
<frankdrey>
CM sucks
<jomp16>
frankdrey, true
<frankdrey>
AOSP = best
<jomp16>
CM is the most oldest custom ROM in the world
<frankdrey>
No...
<frankdrey>
JesusFreke made the first I think
<jomp16>
one of *
<temp_>
do you think it would be possible to run a CM based ROM with a TW kernel?
<temp_>
I would imagine...no
<frankdrey>
No
<frankdrey>
If TW = TouchWiz
<temp_>
that's what I thought
<temp_>
yeah...touchwiz
<frankdrey>
Nope
<temp_>
I really can't stand running a touchwiz based rom. There are some great ones out there, but they all seem to collect garbage quickly. They run fine for the first month or so, then it's almost painful to use
<frankdrey>

<jomp16>
Who's the maintainer of GS3 Sprint?
<jomp16>
tried with CM channel?
<temp_>
the maintainer of the CM code or the specific ROM that I am using....or the Kernel?? Lol!
<temp_>
I was on the CM channel yesterday and asked...it was very quiet in there.
<temp_>
Maybe it was my 'temp' name that threw them off!

Hi everyone! I have a question about the sph-l710. I've tried to join the official cm channel, but it doesn't seem to show up.
HoloIRCUser1 is now known as noblebluelion

because you isn't a registered user to join theirs channel
<noblebluelion>
Ahh... Yeah... I'm just leaning how to use IRC
<noblebluelion>

<noblebluelion>
Well, would you be able to possibly answer my question?
<frankdrey>
we won't know until you ask it :)

<noblebluelion>
Haha, right. So, I'm currently using CM10.2 for my sph-l710 and the device keeps dying too soon. It ranges from 20%-45%
ivan`` has quit [Ping timeout: 264 seconds]
<noblebluelion>
It will just flicker and shut off at 45%
<frankdrey>
sounds like a bad battery
<noblebluelion>
Frick...-.-
<noblebluelion>
It started happening when I first flashed Cm 11
<noblebluelion>
Which was the first ROM I flashed with CM installer.
<frankdrey>
how old is the phone?
<noblebluelion>
When sprint first came out with the Samsung G3
<frankdrey>
I have no idea when that was :p
<noblebluelion>
Me neither... xD
<noblebluelion>
I've done many factory resets, dalvik cache wipes, and some advanced wipe I don't remember
