Can anyone read me? Asked a Q a couple days ago about generate blocks (twice) and didn't get an acknowledgement despite a fairly busy channel... feels like my messages might not be making it into the room?
<daveshah>
They are, unfortunately I don't have a good answer
<podrian>
ah
<podrian>
thanks! at least I'm IRC literate!
<daveshah>
I'm slightly surprised that both iverilog and verilator are failing on it, as escaped identifiers are pretty standard afaik
<daveshah>
Are you using recent versions of each?
<podrian>
it may be a problem with cocotb...
<podrian>
I believe so. I'll check.
<podrian>
I was hoping that a yosys sol'n to the bracket-index-renaming would relieve me from having to dive into anything too deep
<daveshah>
You could try doing rename -hide before write_verilog
<daveshah>
But I'm not 100% sure this will work here and it will lose all internal naming
<daveshah>
otherwise there might be some trick with select statements to rename the problematic cells but I can't think of a particularly nice way

I suppose I can just write a quick and hacky parser to deal with them
<podrian>
... parse/rewrite
