<ankh_hikes> oh there is people here, cool. I was wondering if this is the place to discuss Cadmium or is there another channel?
<macc24> hey ankh_hikes
<macc24> yeah it would fit the non-panfrost vibe lol
<macc24> i made cadmium, what do you want to know?
<ankh_hikes> I recently got a duet sold my old ailing c101pa. Was wondering is it that easy to install and then just build up the system with packages? Any real hiccups that might make my venture frustrating?
<ankh_hikes> audio? usbc audio adapter works? gpu acceleration, I read that it should be better with 5.11 stuff?
<macc24> there are some issues on duet, suspend is broken, speakers don't work, and panfrost support for g72 is not the best for now
<macc24> usb-c audio adapter works fine
<macc24> but hey, minecraft works
<ankh_hikes> I saw that :)
<macc24> 5.11 has some bugs on duet
<macc24> aside from having to use mesa from git, duet runs well on cadmium linux
<macc24> and all other issues
<ankh_hikes> standard debian arm64 updates besides kernels?
<macc24> yep
<ankh_hikes> nice
<macc24> i think that it would be really similar to debian in chroot
<ankh_hikes> are most usbc devices picked up? like hubs
<ankh_hikes> hdmi?
<macc24> yeah usb-c works
<ankh_hikes> awesome
<macc24> video output is WIP, maybe-works
<macc24> the usb-c adapter is actually a separate audio card
<macc24> that lenovo includes with duet
<ankh_hikes> sorry for all the questions, just kinda excited that  stumbled onto this.I
<ankh_hikes> been looking for a non intel tablet for running linux on to tinker about.
<macc24> yeah arm devices running linux are really cool
<ankh_hikes> how is the bluetooth , stable ?
<macc24> i don't use bluetooth, kinkinkijkin would know more about state of bluetooth on duet
<ankh_hikes> and if something horribly goes  wrong with installing a recovery stick will rescue me?
<macc24> it would be pretty similar to other devices, bt/wifi chip is qca6174 connected over sdio
<macc24> yeah, you have to try hard to brick a chromebook
<macc24> they are hard to brick
<ankh_hikes> well I'm going to give it a try in the morning, so I'll most likely be back. ;) thanks
<macc24> fyi debian rootfs is best supported on cadmium
<ankh_hikes> ok
