<Net147> not sure. perhaps yonnet.sh is doing it?
<vector80> No, that one doesn't have such line..
<vector80> Disabling modules one by one
<vector80> What is the proper order for ump, disp_ump and mali modules?
<Net147> dunno
<Net147> I usually just load mali which will load the other modules it needs, but I am using the framebuffer
<vector80> I also wish to use framebuffer only
<vector80> not X
<vector80> I disabled all modules, but it still reboots itself

<vector80> I were using 3.4.79 for about 1.5 months, never happened such thing
<vector80> and I didn't change anything in the rootfs
<vector80> I just copied uImage, firmware and modules

<ccaione> moin
<wens> trying to unify the watchdog drivers
<wens> the sunxi-wdt driver uses mostly ioread32/iowrite32 calls
<wens> but the machine reset code uses readl/writel
<montjoie[home]> use writel/readl only
<ccaione> uhm, aren't equivalent (at least on arm)
<montjoie[home]> yes they both work (even memset/memcpy work) but it is better to use writel/readl
bonbons has joined #linux-sunxi
<montjoie[home]> ioread is for io port, and writel for MMIO
<ccaione> AFAIK ioread/iowrite is a wrapper so it depends
<ccaione> on arm ioread is mapped to readl IIRC

<wens> ccaione: you were asking about RTC LDO on AXP221 the other day?
jebba has joined #linux-sunxi
Lumocolor has joined #linux-sunxi
<Lumocolor> I'm looking for a flexible ( input voltages: if I'm being daring maybe 3.*V?. 5v-6v-13v (car battery, etc)) power supply and Li-* battery charger to use with the cubieboard, any suggestions?
<wens> there is a regulator in the RTC block in the A23 (and in the A31 I guess), that drops voltage to 0.7~1.4V
<wens> not sure if it is used internally as well
<wens> in any case, omilex has some better docs on A31: https://github.com/OLIMEX/OLINUXINO/tree/master/HARDWARE/A31-PDFs
<Lumocolor> also can be charge the battery from solar without damaging the battery on a cloudy day (charging on and off every sec)
<Lumocolor> solar and other renewable sources. also it need to be tiny for a diy pocket computer/handheld (5inch screen)
<Lumocolor> I was planing to use the cubieboard2 for its smaller size
<Lumocolor> but I'll have a look wens
<wens> Lumocolor: oh I was talking to ccaione :p
<Lumocolor> arr that makes more senses
jebba has quit [Quit: Leaving.]
<ccaione> wens: not me, bbrezillon I think
<wens> bbrezillon: ^ see my previous messages
<wens> Lumocolor: IIRC I've seen such things (dual input: external and solar, 5V output, lipo charger) at my local electronics store
<bbrezillon> wens: thanks for the link, I'll take a look
<wens> Lumocolor: to use a lipo battery with the Cubieboard you will need 5V output
<wens> better if it's slightly higher. The diode on the input drops the voltage slightly
<wens> If the voltage is too low, you won't be able to power USB or SATA
<Turl> what about one of the olimex boards with batt support?
<Lumocolor> wens:I know, I recently found something that seamed to use 3.7 li-po bats and I guess a up-converter but it was only 1A out
<Lumocolor> I've looked at olimex but there one the big side
<wens> 1A should be enough if you don't have a lot of accessories?
<Lumocolor> I thought the cubieboard was 2A acorrding to the wiki
<Turl> Lumocolor: if you're using HDMI, Mali, and a SATA disk maybe
<Lumocolor> sd cards, wifi, pro usb audio interface
<Lumocolor> so yea I need more then 1A if I can
<wens> 2A is the maximum input
<Lumocolor> ohh
<wens> there's a 2A fuse on the board (and I think that's the maximum input of the PMIC as well)
<wens> you should try getting a board that supports lipo using the PMIC
<Lumocolor> also theres how to monitor the battery charge level/voltage for power off when battery low. been looking for a ADC pin on the cubieboard
<Lumocolor> PMIC?
<wens> the AXP209 IC is a power management IC, and it also supports a lipo battery
<Lumocolor> this is what can confessed me reguarding 3.*V http://www.seeedstudio.com/depot/LiPo-Rider-Pro-p-992.html?cPath=1_75

<wens> oh yeah this is what I saw :)
<wens> I don't think this would take 6V+
<Lumocolor> yes it does take 6v+
<Lumocolor> yes it doesn't
<wens> and since it only takes micro usb for the primary supply, you will need to get something to connect a car battery
<Lumocolor> yea, well if I'm using a big fat 12v bat then a external usb power supply is the least of the bulk & weight
<wens> :)
<Lumocolor> looking at the manual trying to workout if its suitable for charging the bat via solar
<wens> the A31 manual also says each gpio group has a separate power pin
<Lumocolor> what about using a exteral usb backup power pack thing
<Lumocolor> it's all in one, so just a wire from the bat to ADC pin?
<wens> bbrezillon: I remember hans mentioning that the default regulator settings for the AXP221 undervolted the mmc0 pins at 3.0V?
<wens> if we can make that regulator controllable, maybe we could get UHS-1 support
Faisal has joined #linux-sunxi

<Lumocolor> uhh I've been looking at the micro ups myself and I'm contemplating it. though for my needs it's a bit on the big side :\

<cap3lla> hey all. I did read on linux-sunxi.org/XBMC that there is no hardware acceleration yet on the Cubietruck. I would like to know: if I will install "Android", can I then use XBMC on it with full driver support or won't that work either?

<bonbons> Lumocolor: dont all cubieboards have built-in battery controller? (which lists battery status in /sys/class/power_supply/battery/)
<Lumocolor> what!
<Lumocolor> bonbons I don't see one. olimex has builtin bat chargers
<Lumocolor> bonbons: I don't see one. olimex has builtin bat chargers
<Lumocolor> some olimex boards
<bonbons> cubietruck has one, not sure for the older two
<bonbons> as far as I understood, to get expansion ports doing what you want you will have to change FEX file (to assign appropriate function to the pins of interest)
<bonbons> (but for cubietruck there is probably a bug in power-off sequence sent to AXP as power-off usually fails when battery is connected)
popolon has quit [Quit: Quitte]
<Lumocolor> I was looking at the smaller one the cubieboard2
<Lumocolor> thanks to all btw
<vinifr> have someone a .config of linux mainline for sunxi? My does not work
<Lumocolor> bonbons: so it looks like editing the fex text file then compile it into a bin and copy and paste then done? no recompiling of the kernel
<Lumocolor> then I need to work out how to hock it (https://www.sparkfun.com/products/10617) to the system battery monitor?
<bonbons> well, that depends if your kernel already has the drivers (sunxi i2c probably yes, for the chip on sparkfun board, that's a different question)
<Lumocolor> oh arr
<Turl> vinifr: you can use sunxi_defconfig or multi_v7_defconfig on the tree
FR^2 has joined #linux-sunxi
<Turl> ssvb: are you around?
<Turl> ssvb: I was wondering about hwmon on 3.4
<Turl> I saw we can get temps from AXP, and I thought the TS block also had a temp sensor, but I don't see any toggle on menuconfig, is it supported?
seppel has quit [Quit: Leaving]
<bonbons> Lumocolor: but you should be able to talk to that chip from userspace via one of the /dev/i2c* nodes
<Lumocolor> oh goody goody. sounds like my level (bash scripts)
<vinifr> Turl, sunxi_defconfig does not work
<Turl> vinifr: define 'does not work' :)
<Turl> and what tree are you using?
<vinifr> Turl, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HrkRH0-uSaU. See final from video
<vinifr> Turl, minute 4
<vinifr> Turl, i'm using https://github.com/jwrdegoede/linux-sunxi/tree/sunxi-devel, with mmc driver enable
<Turl> vinifr: forgot to set bootargs?
<Turl> vinifr: add setenv bootargs console=ttyS0
<vinifr> Turl, ok, let me try
<Lumocolor> bonbons: oh doesn't look as easy as a bash script https://www.kernel.org/doc/Documentation/i2c/dev-interface
<Turl> you can use i2c-tools
<Lumocolor> the olimex board is getting attractive, bigger then I want but if it means... hmm
<Lumocolor> oh
<Lumocolor> looking at i2c-tools... hmmm :\
<vinifr> Turl, stilll does not work, i'm stuck here: 'Uncompressing Linux... done, booting the kernel.' :(
<Turl> vinifr: can you paste your .config? just to check something
<Lumocolor> hangon have sparkfun alreadly written the code? http://dlnmh9ip6v2uc.cloudfront.net/datasheets/Prototyping/lipo_fuelgauge-v10.zip
<Turl> Lumocolor: looks like code for PIC or some other uC
<vinifr> I enabled a lot of thing :D
<Turl> vinifr: what hw are you using btw?
<Turl> A13?
<vinifr> Turl, ok, this works: setenv bootargs console=ttyS0,115200 root=/dev/mmcblk0p2 rootwait panic=10
<vinifr> :D
<vinifr> cubieboard1
<Turl> a10 then, ok :)
<vinifr> did you test mmc driver?
<Turl> yes but I'm not using it at the moment
<Turl> I use a small buildroot system as initrd
<vinifr> Do i have add 'env set fdt_high ffffffff'?
<vinifr> Do i have to add 'env set fdt_high ffffffff'?
<Turl> vinifr: try without it and report :)
<Turl> vinifr: it was needed so uboot would not relocate dtb to outside of ram or too far away from kernel
<Turl> but I think it got fixed, not sure
<Lumocolor> Turl: ok thanks
<Turl> vinifr: forgot to enable some filesystems?
<Turl> it looks like ext4 & company are off on your config
<vinifr> I think you're right
