<amitk>
wens: do you know if the AP6330 have similar fex requirements - 1 gpio for power, one for wakeup, interrupt, etc.
<amitk>
has anybody succeed in getting 6330 to work?
<wens>
most likely yes
<wens>
as for getting 6330 to work, AFAIK not many devices use it
<amitk>
wens: ok, another question - does the AP6xxx name stand for the combo package of a wifi chip and a BT chip? I can't find reliable document stating which wifi and BT chip is in which combo package
<wens>
AP6xxx is manufactured by AMPAK, no public documents exist for them
<amitk>
I haven't gotten the sdio bit to power on yet, hitting this error: failed to power up wifi chip, retry again (4 left)
<wens>
the BT chip doesn't need a driver, just toggle some GPIOs, a clock, and load the firmware
<amitk>
I am using the bcmdhd driver on the 3.4 kernel (need a display)
<wens>
can't help you with 3.4 kernel
<amitk>
wens: understand
<wens>
you have to find a version of bcmdhd that works for you
* amitk
will try out the sunxi-devel branch
<wens>
with sunxi-devel, you'll have to make sure the GPIO in the DT matches what's in your fex file
<wens>
and there's a good chance the brcmfmac driver won't support the AP6330
<wens>
but at least you can figure out which chip it is, after it's powered on

[7] you can easily verify this by disabling CMA in the kernel config

(although it might be a good idea for cedar based on what I've read)

do recent linux-sunxi kernels use CMA memory for disp? that might explain things...

well, one more possible reason is the removal of the special 64MB boot time memory reservation for mali

I'm trying to compile in an rtl8723au module into the kernel, but I'm not really sure how to do it. It's to get the wifi working on the mk808c.
_massi_ has quit [Quit: Leaving]
<dack>
right now the only way I can see to do it is compile the kernel on the device and then compile the module and install it... very slow!
<dack>
rm: I guess I'm missing some explanation there... I'm already able to cross compile the kernel and get it working on the mk808c.
<dack>
rm: the issue, though, is the rtl8723au driver isn't part of the kernel source code... it's seperate.
<dack>
rm: when I cross compile and copy over the module directory I end up with a "build" simlink that points to a directory on my laptop... the driver's makefile tries to use that
<dack>
so.. The only solution I can think of is to recompile the kernel on my mk808c so that driver has a legit directory to work from. I'm thinking there's an alternative way I can do it all on my laptop, but I can seem to find it.
