<mnemoc>
Yaku: people in this channel who is interested in A10 devices isn't of the repurposing-stock images kind. it's more about building your own from open sources.
<traeak>
almost seems like allwinner might be becoming irrelevant (hehe)
<mnemoc>
A31 devices are starting to come out, and A20 will began soon
<traeak>
wonder how they are selling compared to like the rk3066 (or whatever that dual a9 is)
<mnemoc>
rk3066 is likely to be selling much more currently

yes i write crap that scales massively...one requirement to really take advantage of a bunch of cores is additional memory required for all the bookkeeping and intermediate result queues.
<traeak>
just saying "i'll take a typical dual a9 with 1GB ram and toss on 64 extra cpus". well it's only going to do a very few things well.

<rm>
those are not even CPUs afaik
<traeak>
which then makes me think that this might be just like any other gpu except these guys just provide untuned hardware to let someone else write the driver for them
<traeak>
of course for something just on paper a cortex a9 is pathetic
