slapin: true. i imagine it's different if you have oodles of board space, on which to bring out the pins. if you have only say 4mm to the edge of the PCB like i have for a couple of the EOMA68 cards i'd imagine it's a different story, eh? :)

lkcl: actually the problem is that to fit 6mil traces you need to make pads 0.35 mm or smaller, and can fit only once, not counting you need to maintain wire sizes and differential pairs, it looks like puzzle, and the eerie feeling of sadistic evil genius laughing somewhere...

5 mil traces are a bit easier but much more expensive, 4.5 mil traces are even more easy as you can put 2 per diagonal, if you can reduce clearance requirements...
