<rm>
what does it say on the bottom left of the board
<ichpuchtli>
@rm you talking to me?
<rm>
sure
<ichpuchtli>
it has two through holes with PWR-CN above it?
<rm>
wtf do you power it with a "0.7 amp" charger, if on the board itself it says power requirement is 2 A minimum
<ichpuchtli>
right sorry
<ichpuchtli>
i didn't expect it to require anymore than 700ma
<ichpuchtli>
most boards do not require such power.
<ichpuchtli>
thanks for you help?

ichpuchtli: I'd say it's a power problem too -- mine does the same kind of thing if you run it off an insufficiently chunky power supply (but it's quite happy with a 2A PSU I stole from an old USB hub)
<ichpuchtli>
yeah I'd say it is
<ichpuchtli>
i havent come across any arm boards so far that require 2amps just to boot
<ichpuchtli>
bit unusual

<Bushmills>
problem is frequently not the actual current draw, but the pulse load response of power supply
<Bushmills>
"chargers" often don't do well in that respect
<ichpuchtli>
yeah also has onboard Wifi/BT which may be powered up automatically
<FR^2>
you're talking about cubietruck right now, correct?
<ichpuchtli>
yeah

if you would call a stand alone forth interpreter an "OS" which technically it can be, the effort is even rather manageable
<emx>
Bushmills, where do i get the docs from? i know that i need to know about the architecture and that i need to reed a few pages to understand which registers i need to read and write and stuff.
<Bushmills>
i'd refer you to internet for docs
<emx>
let's say i want to initialise my cubieboard such that i can communicate with UART.
<emx>
Bushmills, i don't know what i need to look for.
<emx>
does it have a name or is it simply "specs"
<Bushmills>
controller docs, in that case. register and I/O section
<emx>
the data sheet looks quite handy.

I've got a strange issue with my first attempt to use Cubieez Debian in my CB2 : http://paste.debian.net/93876/
<emx>
what now? :P when the cpu is powered on, what happens?
<shineworld>
When I connect WIFI dongle I get this error !!!
