<Attie> whitequark, i've been meaning to ask if you have any particular requirements / recommendations for serial numbers
<d1b2>
<Attie> I was planning on using "agsys#####" or similar, handwritten, if that works for you / team
<d1b2>
<Greg> Nice! When you run glasgow factory it assigns a serial number of the form [HW version]-[TIMESTAMP]. eg: C0-20190119T170409Z
<d1b2>
<Attie> ah i see, thanks... I'd not looked that deeply yet
<d1b2>
<Attie> might be a squeeze to handwrite on the silk!
<d1b2>
<Attie> ... i presume that's written to non-volatile storage somewhere too?
<gruetzkopf>
very nice1
<d1b2>
<Attie> [i went looking, and yes it appears so - see GlasgowConfig]
<d1b2>
<Greg> Yep, stored on device. It's useful for when working with multiple glasgows attached to a computer, you can pass --serial [serial] to select between attached devices. Otherwise I'm not sure it's used anywhere else.
<d1b2>
<Attie> yeah, I saw that

<Attie> I might try to put it on two lines, or could look at using the label printer for smaller / clearer text if necessary
<d1b2>
<Attie> it would be best to have the "physical" serial match the "virtual" for obvious reasons
<d1b2>
<Attie> have you (or anyone else) got an example of a serial written in the patch of a revC1?
