<_whitenotifier-f> [GlasgowEmbedded/glasgow] esden pushed 3 commits to wip-revC2 [+2/-0/±3] https://git.io/JU6Nf
<_whitenotifier-f> [GlasgowEmbedded/glasgow] esden 2be9e04 - revC2: Added XKB TC-1109DE TH RA tact switch footprint.
<_whitenotifier-f> [GlasgowEmbedded/glasgow] esden 481d7ec - revC2: Added the tc-1109de-b-f tact switch 3d model.
<_whitenotifier-f> [GlasgowEmbedded/glasgow] esden bbf5743 - revC2: Replaced the small SMD tact switch with a slighly bigger TH version.
<_whitenotifier-f> [glasgow] esden synchronize pull request #196: WIP revC2 - https://git.io/JfXxO
<d1b2> <esden> Regarding the chanes I just pushed. For reference...
<d1b2> <esden> this is how it looked like before.

<d1b2> <Attie> @esden bigger button? some in that form factor have pretty rigid through hole mounting, was that the reasoning?
<electronic_eel> hmm, I actually preferred the look of the smaller button, not so clunky
<electronic_eel> I guess the reasoning is the aluminium case?
<d1b2> <esden> it will feel better
<d1b2> <esden> and will work better with a case
<d1b2> <Attie> big is probably more readily accessible, if this is the estop
<d1b2> <esden> and will be easier to press... I have both here and I tested them, I am convinced this is the correct solution
<d1b2> <esden> Also "big" is pretty relative...
<d1b2> <Attie> Oh, yes... very relative
<electronic_eel> ah, if you have samples and tested them, and the smd one felt too small, then I think the bigger one is the right way to go

<d1b2> <esden> yeah, the smaller button was "too sharp"... and it was harder to hit than I liked.
<d1b2> <esden> the bigger button fits in the same space on the PCB as the smd button
<d1b2> <esden> it is just taller and has more stem length options that will allow us to make the case nicer

<tnt> esden: is that the HYP (Hongyuan Precision) 1TS003B-1600-3500A-CT by any chance ?
<electronic_eel> tnt: commit message says XKB TC-1109DE
<tnt> That's the new one. I was talking about the small one.
<electronic_eel> have you used it before?
<tnt> Yeah, I have some here and using it in a design right now actually.
<tnt> But it's the "emergency dfu / unbrick" button ... not something you'd need to reach quickly :p
<electronic_eel> ok, so you second esdens experience that it is a bit harder to find where to press?
<tnt> It's really tiny and requires a decently high actuaction force, so yeah, not something I'd use as an e-stop.
