<electronic_eel> esden: I don't like the idea of exporting the gerbers from kicad nightly
<electronic_eel> we do all editing and checking with kicad stable. if there is some rendering or importing bug in nightly, we won't spot it
<electronic_eel> also we can't do any more changes to revC2 with stable
<electronic_eel> so why not make chamfered pads with stable? I know, it is by far less comfortable, but it works
<electronic_eel> see here: https://imgur.com/DujBzeH
<electronic_eel> the drc does not complain anymore with this
<electronic_eel> any objections against checking it in this way and using kicad stable to produce the gerbers?
<electronic_eel> some background why I am very careful when changing kicad versions: I hit a bug when exporting gerbers for a board designed in 5.0 with 5.1. everything looked good on the first look, but one kind of footprint was rotated by 90°, but only in some places
<electronic_eel> obviously this didn't improve DFM...

<electronic_eel> I checked in the solution with the custom shape pads. If there are any objections, we can revert it
<d1b2> <esden> Yeah I prefer the custom shaped pads. That is fine. Thanks electronic_eel 🙂
