thx mack. I guess I just got to figure how to make it boot from iscsi then :-)
<DaRock>
would there be any changes with how the addressing would work?
<DaRock>
I'm looking at berryboot on an rpi3 atm, and so far I can get openelec working - now I just got to get LibreElec going

DaRock: berryboot isn't particularly supported with Libreelec, and at least some of the devs have particular dislike for it.
<DaRock>
why is that?
<mack->
details I don't know
<mack->
one example from the channel logs: "because we get fcuked off with spending hours trying to diagnose some weird improbable issue, only to have the user confess that they're using BB. If you are running BB you are not running LE."
<mack->
guessing berryboot replaces the kernel that LE team works hard on to make sure it works right.
<DaRock>
sounds highly unlikely
<DaRock>
I know one dev who is trying to build dev versions at least
<DaRock>
berryboot is only a boot loader - not a kernel
<DaRock>
AFAICT it is based on and enhances uboot
<DaRock>
kinda like iPXE
<vpeter>
Wasn't there one similar project which had it own kernel?
<wonderworld>
hey, is there a simple way to install and launch an external retroarch from within libreelec but keep the builtin one as well? (want to play N64 ;)

hi! I'm fairly new with libreelec. I'm trying to use v9.1.501 on a brand new rpi4. I have two issues
<vincent>
first, the pi sometimes fails to connect to wifi at startup. is there a way to tell it to try to reconnect automatically?
<wonderworld>
vincent: i think you can make it wait for the network to come up during boot. somewhere in the settings
<vincent>
I'll try that, thanks
<vincent>
the second issue is more obscure. I don't own a TV, so I usually boot the pi headless. my speakers are connected to the audio jack, and kodi is configured so that the audio goes to the analog port only. if I boot the pi while the hdmi cable is connected to something, the audio is properly routed to the jack, but if I boot it headless then it doesn't

there should be a config.txt option to force hdmi on even if nothing is connected

I tried hdmi_force_hotplug=1, it didn't help
<oblikoamorale>
try adding hdmi_drive=2

sadly, it didn't help either. guess I'll be booting it with hdmi plugged for a while
<oblikoamorale>
just to clarify, you had both hdmi_force_hotplug and hdmi_drive?
<vincent>
nope, should I try enabling both of them?
<oblikoamorale>
yes
<vincent>
oh, this worked at least once. thanks!

deb: libreelec does not use packages, therefore no package manager. It's an OS to run Kodi. Use kodi's addon manager. Kodi has no CLI interface to install addons.
