<orzel>
hello. I wanted to clear (not clean) my database, it seems the only way is to delete some .db files in ~/.kodi/userdata/Database. Problem is, i removed them all, and now kodi crash at startup
<orzel>
the log files end with: ERROR: unable to load resource://resource.language.fr_fr/langinfo.xml: Failed to open file at line 0
<orzel>
any chance i can sort that out without reinstalling ?
<DaVu>
did you use a mysql db?
<DaVu>
I guess not, but I want to be sure
<DaVu>
lemme check something
<DaVu>
I misread the above
<DaVu>
I highly guess Kodi searches for the french language add-on as you had set Kodi to that language
<DaVu>
So either delete "guisettings.xml" as well. Or search for an entry like:
<orzel>
it now boots ok, but there are still weird behaviour. all my 'sources' are lost
<DaVu>
just want to mention that
<DaVu>
check sources.xml
<orzel>
(nope i dont use mysql, didn't even know it was possible. is there a good reason to do so ?)
<DaVu>
only if you are using multiple Kodi clients
<orzel>
sources.xml seems ok, my entries in 'video' are working, but those are not indexed
<orzel>
only the new i add
<DaVu>
try to update the library once more
<orzel>
i'm always lost with the gui, even after years of use. I'm trying to find how to add files, or sources, or whatever it's named, for 'movies'. When empty it proposes to go to "files", but to add a second one, i dont know where to go.
<DaVu>
and if there's only a single Kodi client in your network, then a MySQL DB doesn't make much sense
<orzel>
Not settings/files browser
<orzel>
i understand for mysql. when you need sharing of metadata.]
<DaVu>
which skin are you using? I guess Estuary?
<orzel>
the default one
<DaVu>
ok
<DaVu>
which Kodi version?
<orzel>
it's already complicated enough, i know using others make that even more complicated /buggy
<DaVu>
it shows a slightly different way, but in the end it's the same

<orzel>
it works
<DaVu>
and if all doesn't work, ssh in and do: mv /storage/.kodi /storage/kodi-backup
<DaVu>
that's like a factory reset and there's no need to re-install
<orzel>
if i go to 'music video' i can see my movies, which is kinda weird. but ok.
<DaVu>
that will depend on the content you set for the path you added
<orzel>
oh, i like this reset think, i didn't want to go through the burn-usb-key-boot-install
<DaVu>
as said, please read the wiki
<orzel>
i spend quite some time on the wiki, but i will more
<orzel>
i understand some more, already
<DaVu>
good ;)
<DaVu>
we all started somewhere ;)
<orzel>
yes :)
<orzel>
DaVu: Vielen dank, anyway

I've reseted by removing ~/.kodi
<orzel>
funnily, some things (like wifi settings) still work
<orzel>
lot of weird things, though. i've added a 'photo' directory from nfs, in "Images", and it only shows in 'files'. Just moving to images on the left menu still display nothing. (the empty on-disk /images is not something)
