<FesterJester> Trying to compile 9.2.3 from source, but I am failing at 023/251 cmake:host. Anyone have ideas?

<chewitt> FesterJester what distro are you compiling on?
<FesterJester> Debian 10
<FesterJester> OOps, I mean Ubuntu 20.04
<chewitt> clean build?
<FesterJester> Yes
<chewitt> odd
<FesterJester> Clean Ubuntu 20.04 install and followed the directions here https://wiki.libreelec.tv/compile

<FesterJester> I did have to remove the packages for libretro. They would not download the correct files for some reason, but I don't plan to do any emulation. Least not right now.

<FesterJester> And compile command I am running is "PROJECT=Rockchip DEVICE=RK3399 ARCH=arm UBOOT_SYSTEM=nanopi-m4 IMAGE_SUFFIX=nanopi_m4 make image"

<FesterJester> looking at cmake_bootstrap.log suggests this failed

<FesterJester> Something about 'environ' was not declared
<chewitt> I'm still using 18.04, but i'll start a build running and see what happens
<chewitt> https://build.libreelec.net suggests there's no general problem
<chewitt> but the build servers are probably running 18.04 still too
andy-burns has quit [Ping timeout: 240 seconds]
<FesterJester> Hmm...Maybe I will try building on 18.04. See what happens.
<FesterJester> chewitt: You normally on here? It will take me a while to build my 18.04 and setup build environment, crappy internet.
<chewitt> I'm usually connected, but not always around .. i'm busy with job stuff in GMT+4 working hours
<FesterJester> chewitt: I will try to connect back and let you know what I find out. Or find out what you find out. :D

<FesterJester> chewitt: Guess rebuild on 18.04 didn't go a slow as I expected. However, looks like I have the same compile problem as before. I am calling it quits for a while. Will be back online later.
<chewitt> so
<chewitt> I had a build failure in u-boot
<chewitt> but this was resolved by removing the UBOOT_SYSTEM and IMAGE_SUFFIX bits
<chewitt> after this, I have all RK3399 images built
<chewitt> I was on a conference call so didn't look at why it failed earlier
<chewitt> but looking now
<chewitt> clearly shows no "nanopi-m4" device in 9.2 branch, so that explains
<chewitt> it only exists in master branch
<FesterJester> Hmm...OK. So I am trying to compile something that is not really there yet>
<FesterJester> Oh, I need to build current master, not 9.2.3
<FesterJester> ?
<chewitt> not sure why you need the IMAGE_SUFFIX btw, this doesn't do anything in the image, only the filename
<chewitt> but otherwise yes, build master
<FesterJester> Ok, will try that next.
<chewitt> I can't speak about what the resulting image is like .. both the RK3399 devices I have are gathering dust in a box somewhere
<chewitt> but at least the device exists
<chewitt> that's usually a good start :)
<FesterJester> I am trying to build for a NanoPi M4 V1
<chewitt> yeah, the name doesn't meaning anything to me :)
<FesterJester> I did not find any premade images for it, so here I am diving in head first
<chewitt> ^ latest nightly image from https://test.librelec.tv
<FesterJester> I did not run across this in my searching. Thank you. Still, dove in this far, now I am committed to getting this to build.
<FesterJester> chewitt: Thank you very much for your help so far. I hope to have better results to speak of next time I log on.
<chewitt> np .. enjoy :)
<FesterJester> Until then, the sun is rising and I am falling (asleep that is)
