<Antoine_> Hello, I am using libreelec 9.2.6 on a rpi4. Will it auto update to libreelec 10 or will I need to update it manually?
<lrusak> Antoine_: it won't auto update between major versions

<Antoine_> lrusak: I can't find the procedure to perform the update. Is there a way to backup the settings then import them back?
<Antoine_> Or do I need to wipe my SD card, then reflash it then do the settings again?
<chewitt> backup is in the settings add-on, but you will need to unpack the backup and manually restore specific content instead of restoring the backup file
<chewitt> why .. because you'll backup incompatible py2 add-ons that you don't want in K19
<chewitt> so backup, move the file off the box, wipe and start clean, restore the DB files, sources.xml and add-on settings
<Antoine_> chewitt: Ok thanks a lot. I'll probably just start clean. It will be almost as long to backup and restore
<chewitt> Just backup /storage/.kodi/userdata and restore it
<chewitt> everything else is either not important or you don't want it

<Antoine_> chewitt: Ok, that I can easily do :)

<RoyK> hi all. I just installed libreelec on this pi. I had an old openelec install there, but wanted to upgrade so new sd card and librelec
<RoyK> but I can't get the aspect ratio right. It seems it's blown up on a traditional 1920x1080 screen when the film is really wider, so people look a bit too slim, so to say
<lrusak> set you're tv picture mode to "hd mode" or "just scan"
|Jeroen| has quit [Quit: dada]
<RoyK> lrusak: what do you mean - on the tv?
<lrusak> yes
<RoyK> this worked without fiddling with the tv on openelec - I just want to do the same here
<lrusak> this is a new install correct?
<RoyK> it is
<RoyK> another sd card and all
<RoyK> just dd'ed the image over
<RoyK> setup the same sources etc
<lrusak> so is the problem with the GUI or only when playing videos?
<RoyK> videos
<RoyK> the gui is a bit off too, but I don't care too much about that
<lrusak> set your tv picture mode :)
<RoyK> but videos are stretched vertically
<RoyK> I've tried them all - it still stretches
<lrusak> which LE version?
<lrusak> if it's LE9 then add disable_overscan=1 to /flash/config.txt
gouchi has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
<RoyK> lrusak: it's LE9 and I remember that setting now from som rpi work some years back, but alas, it didn't help
