<Joe-e19> Is it possible to get into the bootloader with a microUSB cable on a Amlogic 8726-MX?
<Joe-e19> My computer sees a M3-Chip by Amlogic but it's then plopping away.
<webczat> narmstrong: do you remember our conversation about os development? does a hikey board fulfill my needs? I mean i don't know how many hardware specs are generally available, and it has mali.
<narmstrong> webczat: no idea if it’s well documented
<narmstrong> Joe-e19: you need the usb flasher from amlogic to use the usb interface
<webczat> narmstrong: you may or may not know the hardware. I see you are able to flash and reflash a rom
<webczat> narmstrong: related: https://github.com/96boards/burn-boot one question for things like this force download mode mentioned by readme, is that a hardware or software responsibility to drive that? I mean usually. i am not sure if you would erase everything you can including your rom, then are you still able to enter this mode?
<Joe-e19> Where is the usb flasher?
<Joe-e19> I find only an Amlogic USB flasher for Windows... I'm running Linux.
<Joe-e19> narmstrong: An idea?
<Joe-e19> How do I upload an U-Boot binary to my Amlogic 8726-MX SoC?
<webczat> ah no, update, it is not flashing a rom. but still something weird :D
<Joe-e19> How can I get kernel debug messages while powering on?
<webczat> uart?
<Joe-e19> Can I get kernel debug messages via micro USB cable? Android debugging is working but the kernel is a bit earlier
<Joe-e19> I want to use micro USB on my Amlogic 8726-MX.
<webczat> i doupt micro usb can do debugging
<webczat> uarts are much simpler so they are mostly used for that
<Joe-e19> I don't want to soldering my 2. amlogic 8726-MX, I don't want to open this tablet.
<Joe-e19> It looks like that micro USB debugging is enabled so that I get a /dev/ttyUSB0 device where I can connect to via picocom
<Joe-e19> This guy at github.com is able to get a /dev/ttyUSB0 device file, where he can connect with picocom to via. MicroUSB Cable. It would be cool if this would work for my amlogic 8726-MX too.
