* webczat would prefer gpio-line-names to be available in sysfs outside of the device tree thing, or in debugfx. because mapping a gpio line with name like gpiox_23 to it's pin header without schematics would be easier
<webczat> i mean mapping gpio line name to a pin in the 40 pin header in c2. and most of these have nice line names showing which pin it is, but debugfs will show only gpiox_whatever

<webczat> btw question. if I don't understand electronics/electricity... I would even say I have problems understanding them because I do not get some obvious? things... where to learn from, or where to start learning?

<narmstrong> webczat: you have them in /sys/kernel/debug/gpio
<narmstrong> if you don't there is an issue with the gpio-line-names table in the DT
<narmstrong> you can also use the libgpiod tools to get the line name, you can even search a pin with it's line name
<webczat> narmstrong: see it. i probably don't have them in debugfs, at least i did not see them. it only lists gpio chips
<webczat> narmstrong: can you verify it? dtb compiles well
<webczat> and are you really sure debugfs displays that info?
<narmstrong> it's not a dtb build issue, but you should see an error at boot
<narmstrong> yes i'm sure
<narmstrong> let me check on kernelci
<webczat> no error at boot actually :) there is only some weird clock error but
<narmstrong> which kernel ?
<webczat> 4.17.0-rc5
