<steev> is there really no other way to get the amlogic libmali.so file than a 12 hour download?
<rtp> steev: did you look at https://github.com/superna9999/ ? iirc, there are some mali blob somewhere
<steev> Yeah, it’s a link to amlogic’s site (well, I looked at his Mali driver based on... yours? I can’t recall your real name, I’ve always referred to you as rtp
<steev> I haven’t looked at all his repos
<rtp> it's narmstrong repo
<steev> Ah, no you’re not Maxime :)
<steev> Also hiyo, long time no chat, hows the efikamx support coming? :P
<steev> Also hiyo, long time no chat, hows the efikamx support coming? :P
<steev> Mobile connection sorry
<rtp> steev: still on todo list /o\
<steev> Ah thank you sir
<steev> Yours mine and Matt’s :P
<rtp> :)
<narmstrong> amlogic ones are buggy on desktops
<zhangn1985> does linux-kernel maillist rejects emails from XXX@outlook.com?

<steev> narmstrong: interesting, I haven’t played with wayland at all actually. I may give that a shot later. What I have here mostly works, I had to pull in 2 patches from upstream for the xorg abi change
<steev> Biggest thing is that the background is “black” but launching a console I can see the wallpaper behind it
<steev> I like it, great job, seriously, only a few minor warts at this point
<steev> Mainline u-boot sees the sdcard as mmc0 and the emmc as mmc1 but the kernel sees the sdcard as mmckbl1 and emmc as mmcblk0 without using both as once
<steev> And audio, but lack of audio doesn’t bother me

<narmstrong> steev: it’s a known bug, you need to disable alpha in the kernel, the armsoc xorg driver is really bad...
<steev> speaking of which
<steev> cool, i'll grab that
<narmstrong> You can take audio support from my le branches like https://github.com/superna9999/linux/commits/linux-4.17-le-amlogic-gx
<steev> https://paste.debian.net/1035000/ not sure which patch i might be missing
<steev> but i haven't really looked into it, just disabled the i2s for now
<steev> i wanted to test the other bits
<steev> ah, alright :)
<steev> compiling that stuff now, will move the gpu stuff back in place after testing it

<steev> narmstrong: only seems to occur when using the armsoc driver. will let it sit a bit longer just to be sure

<rtp> steev: fwiw, with wayland, no need to deal with the armsoc driver :)
