<Xogium> xdarklight: about to reboot with kernel 5.3.5 :) lets see how that goes

<Xogium> xdarklight: nop, not buggy here as well
<Xogium> on other good news, there was a giant improvement on eMMC speed, goes from 80 mb/s to this
<Xogium> Timing buffered disk reads: 468 MB in 3.00 seconds = 155.97 MB/sec
<xdarklight> Xogium: not buggy meaning on 5.3.5 Ethernet works for you without any code or config changes?
<xdarklight> and it's nice to see the bump in eMMC performance, I think that's due to Jerome MMC driver changes for 5.3 :)
<Xogium> xdarklight: yea
<Xogium> it's not having any issue, my config is pretty standard except for some things like usb sound and rtc driver built-in
<xdarklight> Xogium: maybe you can pastebin your .config so pigiron can check for changes between yours and his (working vs. non-working) to rule out that the config is causing this
<Xogium> and indeed it's good to see the bump in performance thanks to jbrunet :) I have the same performance as I used to have with the old crappy 3.14 kernel
<Xogium> sure
<Xogium> there ya go http://ix.io/1YiV
<xdarklight> interesting, your config already has CONFIG_HZ=250
<Xogium> does it ? Hm
<xdarklight> maybe that once was the default
<Xogium> I don't remember changing this on my own here
<Xogium> this is a config that I grabbed from 4.19.56 and ran menuconfig on

<Xogium> and iirc the 4.19.56 was done all by hand, so make defconfig, tweaks in menuconfig

<chewitt> FWIW.. I've not seen any issues with Ethernet on C2 with 5.3.x kernels
<chewitt> I have fuzzy memory of issues with CONFIG_REALTEK_PHY=m vs. CONFIG_REALTEK_PHY=y in the past
<chewitt> but.. fuzzy memory
<xdarklight> chewitt: that has CONFIG_HZ=300. not sure why CONFIG_HZ would cause Ethernet to break though...
<xdarklight> still interesting, thanks
<xdarklight> I have to go to work now and I probably won't be back at my computer before tomorrow morning. I'll read the IRC backlog though ;)

<pigiron> xdarklight: I'm the one with the C2 dma reset problem...
<pigiron> I recompiled the kernel with HZ=250, but it was the same failure. It was worth a try though.
