But usually this means issue on anther component which non-friendly shares interrupt or component with higher priority interrupt not clearing int in long periods. Is s905 IR int shared? Maybe issue is edge instead level int.trigger?

16:08 <warpme_> chewitt: I suspect LE is much lighter regarding GPU usage in playback (as all "mixing" of UI and video is in crtc display controller - not in GPU.). myth uses EGL to mixing UI and video surfaces. Effectively different parts of SoC are loaded in playback in LE and in myth. So maybe IR "missing interrupts" are manifesting when GPU is heavy loaded?
