<l-as> is it normal for there to be no entries in /sys/class/devfreq ?
buzzmarshall has quit [Remote host closed the connection]
<chewitt> which board/box?
<l-as> chewitt: odroid n2
<chewitt> have you tried "find / -name *devfreq*" to see if they're hiding elsewhere?
<chewitt> I forget where that stuff lives, but things under /sys seem to move around a little between different SoC types

<chewitt> meh, I see the same
<chewitt> N2:~ # cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/policy2/scaling_available_frequencies
<chewitt> 100000 250000 500000 667000 1000000 1200000 1398000 1512000 1608000 1704000 1800000 1908000
<chewitt> N2:~ # cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpufreq/policy0/scaling_available_frequencies
<chewitt> 100000 250000 500000 667000 1000000 1200000 1398000 1512000 1608000 1704000 1896000 1992000
<chewitt> N2:~ # ls -l /sys/class/devfreq/
<chewitt> total 0
<l-as> chewitt: I get the exact same output, and couldn't find anything else with the find command. Those cpufreq ones are for the CPU though I assume and not the GPU (which would be controlled by devfreq AFAIK)
<chewitt> ahh
<l-as> I became interested in this because of https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/issues/3143
<l-as> (not the issue, but the conversation)
<chewitt> but needs some t-b comments before it can be resent as non-rfc and merged
<l-as> thanks!
<chewitt> this prob. won't fix the fault errors that g52 shows on panfrost
<chewitt> but it would be nice to test anyway.. send feedback to @xdarklight
<l-as> chewitt: when using panfrost on the g52, do you see old images pop up occasionally?
<chewitt> no, but kodi is a rather simple gles app
<l-as> e.g. my terminal will some times show what it had shown a minute ago or so
<l-as> that might be why, it doesn't happen with everything
<chewitt> I see other graphical glitches, but nothing like that
<l-as> what kind of glitches?
<chewitt> mostly "lightning" zags
<chewitt> don't know how better to describe tthem
<chewitt> they're not frequent
<l-as> seems very different from what I experience
<chewitt> the main issue with g52 for me is how things are powered up (lots of faults)
<l-as> for me some times parts of the screen switches back and forth between what it should render and just blackness
<l-as> huh
<chewitt> well.. it's only been "supported" for a month, and these things take time to mature
<chewitt> I need to see if I can light a fire under Amlogic .. there's a convo on the power-up issues, which they are witness to, but not participating in
<l-as> very true, thanks.
<chewitt> it took midgard ~12m to mature
<chewitt> bifrost probably gets there a bit quicker as there is a level of inheritance from midgard
<chewitt> but since all this stuff is reverse engineering and educated guesswork .. no guarantees :)
