<lautriv>
are there any known issues on SD-cards with rk3188(T) ?
<sanjay>
?
<sanjay>
i'm trying to boot rk3188 with sdcard
<sanjay>
but sdcard boot with local kernel, don't know why, even if i have a different kernel on sdcard
<lautriv>
sanjay, assume your boot attempt faiuled and it's falling back,
<sanjay>
no, because i have cmw on sdcard, and stock recovery on my rk3188. it boot with CMW when i plug sdcard
<sanjay>
but dmesg show emmc kernel
<sanjay>
not sdcard kernel
<sjoerd>
mmind00: ooi does 3364 actually do anything useful with the arm64 defconfig ?
<sanjay>
but i'll finish my test this night
<lautriv>
forgot some cmdline ?
<sanjay>
what's your issue with sdcard ?
xcasex has quit [Read error: Connection reset by peer]
<lautriv>
i did a chroot and it starts fine but after some time it starts self-destructing. either it's a bad timing or some powerdown from the shitts host-OS.
xcasex has joined #linux-rockchip
<mmind00>
sjoerd: it could boot into a ramdisk if I remember correctly
<naobsd>
sanjay: are you really sure that CWM on SD is booted, i.e. recovery partition on device is not CWM? you said you flashed CWM to on-board flash.
<sanjay>
no
<sanjay>
if i remove sdcardd
<sanjay>
i have stock recovery
<sanjay>
if i plug sdcard, i have CMW
<naobsd>
hmmm
<sanjay>
i try a different kernel on sdcard
<sanjay>
but dmesg say "kernel 3.0.0.36" always same kernel
<naobsd>
all kernel should be 3.0.36
<sanjay>
i don't know if CMW has his own kernel
<sanjay>
i have unpack boot.img from an older firmware
<sanjay>
with "split_boot"
<akaizen>
lautriv: opengl es
<naobsd>
sanjay: it depends which cwm image are you using
<sanjay>
boot.img from demo asus
<sanjay>
it's write "cmw from androtab bla bla bla bl"
<naobsd>
my recovery_cwm.img should have old kernel
<naobsd>
Linux version 3.0.36+ (jenkins@TDC-Build) (gcc version 4.6.x-google 20120106 (prerelease) (GCC) ) #242 SMP PREEMPT Wed Oct 16 17:01:39 CST 2013

<sanjay>
this is .92 and .100 kernel. not .82 kernel wich is 3.0.8
<naobsd>
oh, .82 is 3.0.8?
<sanjay>
i think
<sanjay>
not sur
<sanjay>
i can boot it
<sanjay>
i have ramdisk
<naobsd>
.82 should be Linux version 3.0.36+ (jenkins@TDC-Build) (gcc version 4.6.x-google 20120106 (prerelease) (GCC) ) #244 SMP PREEMPT Thu Oct 17 01:48:45 CST 2013
<naobsd>
anyway
<sanjay>
so i have my answer
<naobsd>
you're using kernel in my cwm image, then it should have no protection, no read-only issue
<lautriv>
sanjay, "android is very likely debian with little difference " ???? what are you smoking ?
<sanjay>
and this is the cause also : error 0 requesting status 0x80900 > nd_request: I/O error, dev mmcblk0, sector 3681920
<sanjay>
lol
<sanjay>
linux is linux
<sanjay>
that i want to say
<sanjay>
my english is not very good
<lautriv>
but android is NOT linux
<sjoerd>
linux is just the kernle though :)
<sjoerd>
lautriv: and neither is debian
<lautriv>
not even that. android is a pile of crap sitting on a raped kernel filled with ugly code and propietary blobs and running a JVM on top.
<sanjay>
unix sorry
<sanjay>
i'm php dev and serv hosting
<sjoerd>
lautriv: did you look at the kernel rockchip ships in gernal :)
<sanjay>
but i don't past my way to compil kernel and other
<sanjay>
so i know unix, i can repair a disk with testdisk and all other
<sanjay>
i'm ok with cmdline and other, but for now, android is different for me, testdisk not workin, fdisk is not same with emmc
<sanjay>
etc
<sanjay>
i'm a indian who leave in france xD so my english is little poor !
<lautriv>
because androshit is not linux ... and never will be.
<sanjay>
yes
<sanjay>
when i say "linux" i say "kernel based" same has osx
<sanjay>
osx too, is no linux i know :) if i say "Osx is linux" you will kill me xD

android motherboard has just a prob
<sanjay>
i can't remove emmc
<sanjay>
and change it :(
<sanjay>
as a hard drive
<sanjay>
with a hosting server, i don't loose my time, if disk has a default, i change it and my server is up in one day
<sanjay>
for rk3188 i have lost a lot of night for reparing partition, and maybe emmc is damaged and i lost my time
<lautriv>
sanjay, only static content ?
<sanjay>
?
<sanjay>
what do you talking about
<sanjay>
dev ?
<lautriv>
that sites
<sanjay>
php / mysql with ajax / jquery
<sanjay>
i have no prob with dev
<sanjay>
15 year of php and server hosting
<lautriv>
but no idea of hardware :P
<sanjay>
if you need help on php / ajax i can help you
<sanjay>
yes
<sanjay>
it's different
<sanjay>
develloping php does not affect hardware, just affect uptime server
<lautriv>
seriously for this purpose you should go for an external hdd.
<sanjay>
if coding with legs, server overload is hight lol
<sanjay>
yes this is secondary solution, boot system with sdcad
<sanjay>
sdcard
<sanjay>
this day .... i'll create a .img file of sdcard and copy it into multiple hdd for backup lool
<lautriv>
no idea about the rockchip variant but upstream u-boot can boot from usb.
<sanjay>
i know that i can boot with sdcard
<sanjay>
because i can boot cmw with sdcard
<sanjay>
a tablet with external hdd will be heavy, but a 32 or 64GB sdcard can be a good solution
<lautriv>
flash is slow and your purpose will lead to a fast wear-out.

^ do
<lautriv>
akaizen, yes, somewhat ... i build from source which will take some time but the "somewhat reasonable" was meant for "boots its own kernel and don't chroot from android"
<akaizen>
I wrote up a README for getitng mainline u-boot and kernel running on firefly
<lautriv>
is there a way to stop android from auditing ?
