managed to get one board working with mainline u-boot + some patches, but the other board i probably flashed something in the wrong place and it requires shorting the eMMC to get into maskrom mode

main effort is done on 4.4 yet. mostly because of validation reasons

vagrantc: took a quick look over the uboot code. i think it should work from sd card

spl will be loaded in any case. if it fails to load the second stage it will tell you via uart output. but looks fine for me
