hi all
cnxsoft has quit [Quit: cnxsoft]
<chichak>
I'm trying to use chromebook kevin with a mainline kernel, but i don't manage to create a kernel image that boots, not even when I unpack the image that shipped with the chromebook

nevermind, source of the error seems to be an error in the partition table
<mmind00>
chichak: great that you found a possible error
<chichak>
problem now is no display with mainline kernel, and I dont have remote access, will try that next. but it seems to shutdown cleanly
<mmind00>
chichak: that is to be expected ... i.e. graphics support for kevin (and rk3399) is upcoming, with most parts targetted at 4.14 ... but no guarantees for kevin itself

mmind00: oh. last time I talked with somebody about kevin I understood basically everything would be working
<chichak>
but good to hear there's an ETA
<mmind00>
chichak: everything except graphics :-) ... as there a million puzzle-pieces involved it often takes a bit to things fall into place

another thing: is there documentation somewhere what's on the unused connector on the mainboard? The one next to the emmc?
<mmind00>
chichak: my Kevin is at home in my boardfarm, so if you can post a photo somewhere, I might be able to help (or not) :-)
<mmind00>
chichak: normally devices targeted at regular sales don't have this connector populated ... but it seems Kevin got to keep it for the mass-market
