<hanetzer> anyone know how to get a rockchip device (chromebook in this case) to send stdout to a video device?
<Ke> you perhaps mean CONFIG_VT?
<hanetzer> Ke: I mean specifically for u-boot's console, shoulda said so :)

<micken> so.. no answer
<micken> where can I ask hw SOC related questions?
<micken> not related to linux?
lurchi_ is now known as lurchi__
<mmind00> micken: "No clue about CRU_SOFTRST7_CON?" is not really a question :-)
<micken> I know
<micken> I asked a bit more about an hour earilier
<phh> uh, I'm not seeing anything in my logs
<micken> I need to use CRU_SOFTRST7_CON without linux
<micken> from linux or if I softreset into uboot , I can use it
<micken> If I just power up I can't
<micken> So my question is , what is needed before a write to that register?
<micken> test case is simple: I need to reset HDMI
<micken> write bit 25 and 9
<micken> that gives the register value of 0x200
<micken> in reset state
<micken> but strait from powerup it does nothing
<micken> ie the register is 0x0
<micken> and no effect
<phh> is PD_VIO up?
<micken> I think so
<micken> power on is "0" right?
<phh> I guess
<phh> the status says the same thing as the con reg?
<micken> PD status?
<micken> yes
<micken> But I need to check the manual there , I was under impression last time I looked that the status reg was similar to con reg
<micken> ok checked
<micken> both is on=0
<phh> I'm too lazy to check, but is that enough to clock pd_vio, or you need to do something additionally?
<micken> hmm
<micken> Is there clocking related to PD`?
<micken> It looks like u-boot puts it in "normal" mode
<micken> from CRU trm: pd_bus_ , is that somthing?
<amstan> mmind00: did you ever try kdevelop for the kernel?
<mmind00> amstan: nope ... I'm mostly using vim and/or kate ... and a lot of terminals :-)
<mmind00> amstan: I tend to dislike applications, where I need to remember what buttons to click :-D
<mmind00> micken: in general all soc components seem to start in the "on" position (power-domains, clock gates etc) ... so I cannot really imagine right now what could be off in your case ... especially as I don't think there is anything getting turned on regarding soft-resets in uboot or the linux kernel
<micken> mmind00: ok
<micken> mmind00: thats what I thought
<micken> mmind00: I am trying to bringup HDMI in RISC OS
<micken> which is a opensource project
<micken> But it isn't GPL and it is written in assembler
