<anarsoul> likely something landed in sdhci driver that broke eMMC
<anarsoul> (maybe support for faster modes?)
<robmur01_> hmm, with the start of the eMMC zeroed and u-boot on SD, it boots out of hard reset, but a soft reboot goes back to "mmc block read error"
<robmur01_> seems like something's probably not getting reset correctly
<anarsoul> do you have rk808 driver enabled?
<anarsoul> check 'dm tree'
<robmur01_> looks like it - "rk8xx pmic" and friends are in there
<anarsoul> vcc3v0_sd is actually regulator-fixed
<anarsoul> controlled by "&gpio0 RK_PA1 GPIO_ACTIVE_HIGH"
<anarsoul> robmur01_: IIRC there were issues with linux leaving SD in 1.8v mode. BootROM doesn't reset it back to 3.3v
<robmur01_> ...and yet it can still run the TPL and SPL off it :/
<anarsoul> :)
<anarsoul> well, no idea then
<anarsoul> see "arm64: dts: rockchip: fix RockPro64 sdmmc settings", you're on CC
<anarsoul> (I assume you're using UHS card)
<robmur01_> come to think of it, *somewhere* I have a couple of non-UHS 8GB uSD cards, but no way am I finding them tonight
<anarsoul> robmur01_: just comment out cap-mmc-highspeed in sdmmc node in your dts
<anarsoul> (both u-boot and linux)

* robmur01_ gives up and reflashes the old hacked-up mongrel firmware which is somehow more stable than anything else
<robmur01_> bah, time for bed
<anarsoul> good night :)

<flacks> robmur01: ok, I'll give rkclk_init()/PLL a look this week, thanks for the insight :) and indeed, cpufreq is built into my kernel, but it loads at around the 25 second marker typically, whereas the hang without the DT hack is at around 7 seconds
